All I own is the idea

Julie had been having a very hard time sleeping lately. She'd been going through an awful lot and it started to affect her. Consequently she was having a hard time sleeping. One day when Monk was visiting Natalie and Julie (his apartment was being fumigated) he noticed Julie was having a tough time.

"Hey Julie," Monk said, "Go wash your hands thoroughly and come back here."

"Why?"

"I have something that will help you sleep"
Oh good LORD what is he going to give my daughter, Natalie thought to herself watching the interaction between Monk and Julie. It definitely was not what Natalie would have guessed. Monk went to the guest closet and took something off the top shelf.

As soon as Julie came back Monk handed her what he was going to give her.

"OH MY GOSH! This is amazing," Julie said

"It will help you sleep better," Monk explained, "It helps me when I can't sleep"

Julie hugged him and then went off into her own room.

"Okay what did you give her," Natalie asked startling Monk.

"Oh. I just gave her my Trudy pillow. It helps me when I can't sleep and I thought it might help Julie to sleep too."

"I'm sorry I think I lost you at 'I just gave her my Trudy pillow'," Natalie replied

"Natalie it's no big deal"

"No big deal. Are you kidding? Mr. Monk that was an incredible thing you just did"

"Yeah well it's nothing any father wouldn't do for his daughter," Monk replied.

Natalie looked at him curiously.

"I know we've had our ups and downs and ins and outs but I have come to realize something. You guys are my family. I love all of you. I'm moving forward I think"

"You certainly are," Natalie said, "I remember a time you would have gone ballistic if anyone even went near your Trudy pillow"

"And I'm sorry about the other day," Monk said, "when that guy was picking on you. I should have suck up for you. I just got frightened of him. He's a lot bigger then me and I've seen him put a fist through a brick wall"

"Yikes," Natalie said, "and I'm sorry I got mad at you"

"No you were right," Monk said, "I never would have just sat back if that man had been picking on Trudy"

"Mr. Monk I was upset when I said that"

"You were right when you said that Natalie," Monk said, "You are my family"
