"MUTE"

Author's Note: I'm going to warn you. This has an original character. I'm really repulsed by this, since I have a penchant for slaughtering Mary Sues. I usually hate OCs, I can't help it. Sorry to my fellows non-OC-peeps out there. But I'm doing this to make an attempt at the near impossible: Write a fanfic with an OC, Non-Mary Sue, and not get shot down for being stupid. (Which means that you can shoot me down anyway.) I can understand if you hate the characters. But let's see how she fits in to the world without turning it inside out, k? K.
Chapter I
"The Warehouse"
The warehouse was where Yui first smelled blood. She stood, covered in the crimson liquid; her small body pressed trembling into the corner. There was a woman, dead on the ground. It was her mother. Here she stood, a mere four years old, watching as her father killed her mother. He had started acting strangely some months before, the day he came home with his eyes different. Just like that day her father's eyes glowed as he fired another round into the corpse that was his wife just minutes before. Now he turned to his daughter, quite satisfied that his wife was dead, and began to approach the small girl.
"Da--" Her voice broke as she heaved a sob. "What happened to mum? Why is she--" her words were stifled. She stared at her mother's body, transfixed, then glanced at her father's eyes. So bright, even in the darkness, so green.
"You understand, don't you?" Her father's hoarse voice croaked as he retained enough sanity to speak. "The voice—But don't be afraid. When I deliver you to--" The gun in his hand was aimed at Yui's head, but a noise behind him caused him to lower his arm. "What?" He hissed.
He turned to the door, which was several feet away and shaking furiously as people pounded on it. An expletive slipped from his lips as part of the door gave in. He turned back to his daughter gun once more aimed at her, but his shot was badly aimed as he tried to finish the job quickly before the people hunting him got inside. He didn't look as his daughter screamed in pain, for his hunters were now inside of the building, running to stop him.
He raised the gun to his head and pulled the trigger.
