I never thought it would end like this.

It was meant to be transient,

This deadly kiss.

The first new sensation

I ever would feel

Turns out it's the last,

And far, far too real.

Oh, how they laughed

When I told them my mission

Permanent youth

Was to be my condition

When I stepped through the door

I felt strangely brave

But then I was told

My wishes were insanity's rave.

When I insisted

My intentions were pure

They nodded, smiled

And my future assured

"Come, follow me

Into the back room"

These were the words

That sealed my doom.

Oh, the time is running

But I can't seem to think.

The pain's breaking through

And I'd sure like a drink

Say, you good sir

With the rapturous eyes

Could you please spare a drop

And be done with these lies?

Ah, now it's time

to look back at my life

This foolish quest,

But never real strife

Frightening stories

First set the stage

In Dracula's castle

The book's torn-out page

And the clock on the wall

I think it strikes four

Just two of them now,

Playing tug-of-war.

I think it's just that

Which keeps me alive

Opposing forces,

Can't take too deep a dive.

And I don't remember

The rest of this tale

There must have been something

About a free ride to Yale

But I left in the night

Forever ran from the light

And I threw my life away

In pursuit of this one…

Endless...

Day.
