Prologue

AN: Hello and welcome to my new story, The Not-So Slytherin Princess! This is an AU story, where Draco Malfoy has a sister, and Narcissa is dead. In this story Draco and Lucius's personalities will remain the same, however Draco will completely adore his sister, and adoration is a bit out of character for him.

Just a quick disclaimer, anything recognizable belongs to the lovely JK Rowling, not myself. Anything unrecognizable are my own original characters and ideas.

I hope you all enjoy this rather brief prologue.

The Storm

Narcissa held her precious daughter close as another bout of thunder shook the Malfoy Manor. Her daughter, Lyra Narcissa Malfoy, was days away from being two years old. She was wrapped in her favorite light blue blanket that she had received as a gift from the Parkinson family at birth. Narcissa and Mrs. Parkinson were very good friends, and already planned on arranging their children, Pansy and Draco, to be married despite them only being three years old presently.

Lyra was still wearing her red dress that the house elves had helped her into before dinner. Her fair, silvery blonde hair was in pig-tails, and she was fast asleep, somehow undisturbed by the storm.

Narcissa was currently sitting in a chair down in the dungeons of the Manor, right near the house elves' territory, Draco sitting at her feet. They had been in the middle of their dinner, prepared by their house elf Dobby, when the storm hit. It seemed to have come out of nowhere, and it was causing some serious damage. Normally it would have been of no concern due to the magic reinforcing the Manor, but the storm seemed abnormal in a way. Trees were falling, and the balcony doors in the sitting room couldn't seem to stay closed, due to the wind. Lucius had been with them, but he insisted on returning up to his room to retrieve his wand.

He had been gone for quite some time, and Narcissa was beginning to get worried. She decided that she would go and see what was keeping him.

"Dobby," she whispered, summoning the elf.

He almost instantly apparated into the room, falling into a deep bow, nose almost touching the floor.

"You has summoned Dobby, Miss?" he inquired, rising to his full height, which was not very tall at all.

"Yes, I did. I would like you to watch over Draco and Lyra while I go and search for Lucius."

As soon as Dobby nodded his consent, she placed the sleeping Lyra next to Draco, and exited the room, quickly climbing the stairs that led to the house elves' kitchen. She ran through to the dining room, and then through to the foyer, proceeding to hurry towards more stairs that would lead to the hallway where her and her husband's bedroom was located. However, as she was hurrying across the foyer, another bout of thunder shook the manor, and before she had the chance to get out of the way, the massive overhead chandelier was falling, and it landed right on her.

She never did have the chance to find out what had been keeping Lucius.

AN: I would really appreciate it if you could leave a comment telling me what you think!

Hopefully I'll have an update soon.
