Ivory Dreams

Hiyono Yuizaki bit her bottom lip as she slipped into the hallway, her bare feet barely making a sound upon the cool tiles. Her honey blonde hair was out of its plaits, curling around her face and shoulders. She wore a large white shirt that reached mid-thigh and was haphazardly buttoned. She had obviously grabbed the first thing her hand could reach and pulled it on.

She came to a stop in the doorway that led to the living room and gazed at the item that had made her drag herself out of her warm bed. It was a simple thing really, it shouldn't have this much of an impact on her but it did.

She moved into the living room, moving closer to the object as it continued to call out to her. She knew she should resist but she couldn't help it.

Letting the tips of her fingers caress the black wood, she rounded the front and sat down on the seat in front of it and let her fingers rest on the ivory keys.

She pressed down on a few keys. The different sounds mixed together but no tin harmony and she winced. She would never be able to get up to Ayumu's level. Hell, she sucked when it came to musical instruments. Singing, she could do although she drove Ayumu nuts with her song.

She pressed a few more keys, pretending that she could at least be passable when it came to playing the piano.

"What are you doing?" his voice broke into her thoughts. Startled, her fingers crashed into the keys, the clash of the chords causing him to wince. Hiyono screwed up her nose, not pleased that she had been startled before she looked at him standing in the doorway. His dark brown locks were slightly mussed from his sleep and he wore just a pair of black sweats.

"Ayumu-kun…" Hiyono greeted softly. Ayumu Narumi just arched an eyebrow before he crossed the room till he reached her side.

"I woke up, you weren't there," he told her. "I heard the music and came looking for you."

"Sorry," she mumbled as she looked down at the keys. Ayumu sighed as he stared at her bowed head before he sat down next to her. Hiyono lifted her head, startled as she looked at her lover curiously.

Ayumu let out a deep breath before he placed his fingers on the ivory keys. With deft fingers, he pressed the keys, his fingers dancing over it as the sweet slow music filled the room. He closed his eyes, letting himself go to the world of music.

Hiyono watched him as he lost himself in the music before she let the music wash over her. She loved hearing him play the piano. It always sounded so ethereal when he played despite what he may think.

Sighing, she rested her head on his shoulder. He only faltered for a moment but quickly got back into rhythm. He risked a glance at the closed eye girl beside him and he let a small smile cross his face before he closed his eyes, returning to the music.

As annoying as she was, he was glad that he met her.
