Hello! Im excited for this new story, I could not wait to send it out into the world. But one real quick thing, I dont want to spoil any details unless absolutely necessary, so here is a link to where you can find more info on the story if you absolutely have to.
Its in the next chapter. The link backfired on me. More info in the next chapter.
One more thing. This is going to be a mini-series in a way, so chapters will be short. I'm sorry, but I'm honestly glad I just have a schedule. And I promise I will stick to it.
Without further ado, here we are!
The First Sith
The Force. It is the energy that makes up life. For most of my life, I didn't actually call it that. I just saw it as this thing that brought me to some amazing people. But it wasn't until the end of my lifetime that I truly understood what it was. But who am I? Ah. Allow me to shed some light upon the subject.
This, is the story of how I died.
At least, that's the best way to put it, because I honestly don't know whether you will think I've had a good life or a bad one. I guess I'll let you decide after I tell you the tale.
You see, when I lived, it was thousands of years before the Jedi Order fell. I lived only a few decades before it was initiated. Back then, boundaries weren't as clear as to what constituted everything. The Jedi code was not non existent, but it wasn't necessarily called that yet.
I was a student of the Force then. We weren't really called Padawans until later. One thing that was the same from the beginning was that I did have a master. And we fought for justice and sought to be one with the force just as our future extensions would.
Now, on to my sob (or happy?) story.
My name is Eugene Fitzherbert.
In the days before I met Blondie, I was called Flynn Ryder. A thief with the highest of bounty's. Oh, how proud I was of that title back then.
For a kid born a slave on Berkanine and then to be immediately orphaned, an orphan-slave-kid, I went up the ladder pretty well. In the view of my younger self, of course. When I was a child, I spent my days serving a bunch of jerks, and just thinking of how sad and unfortunate my life was.
But then, something great happened to me. The first streak of luck in my life was meeting Al. He was a thief who hired thieves for a crook. He was actually a nice man, just trying to get by. You know, gotta eat to live, gotta steal to eat. He'd tell me all about it whenever we weren't out and stealing.
Anyways, he bought me and set me free on the conditions I would work for him. The freedom, the purpose it would give me, how could I deny the opportunity?
I used to tell all the other orphan kids the craziest stories of Flynnigan Ryder, a swashbuckling warrior. I guess I thought flying around, stealing for a weird thing was the equivalent of that. What a guy, I used to think.
I worked with Al till I was 13. That was when he gave me my own personal flyer and told me, "Eugene, you are on your own from here on out." And just like that, I became an independent smuggler. I worked straight for the big guy himself. At that point, I was the best of em' out there. 142 SYSTEMS, had me down as a top rate criminal, and I loved it.
Or so everyone thought.
It got tough to conceal my identity and have to worry constantly about watching my back. I mean, constantly. At every cantina, hotel, inn, market, you name it! "Hey, that's Eugene Fitzherbert! The kid thief! Get him!" With an ensuing chase. I was obviously still a kid, but I hated that people still saw me as one. I thought myself grown up. So I dubbed myself Flynn Ryder. Swashbuckling adventurer and thief. I will admit, it sounded a ton better.
After two years as Flynn Ryder, I built an even bigger reputation. People said I was even better-well, they said worse- than Eugene Fitzherbert. Back then I found that amusing-Okay, okay. I still find that amusing.
One of the low income days, I flew off to some wild, uninhabited corner of the Galaxy, and a worm hole opened up. It sucked my new ship and me up, sending us to another even more discrete and lost set of planets. The jarring ride and the whole worm hole thing really tore my ship a new one. I crash landed on a real nice planet. It turned out to look real nice, but it had been lost to outer world contact for, forever, I guess. Although they spoke Basic, they weren't advanced enough for space travel yet. In fact, they were a ways behind it.
It was on that planet that I met Blondie.
I would love any sort of questions, comments you all have.
Thank you for reading!
