I heard the feral growl that ripped from my throat, but couldn't stop it. My eyes widened in horror as I looked at Zak. "G-god, wh-whats-s hap-p-pening to me-e?" Another convulsion wracked my body, arching my spine unnaturally. I fell limp when it ended, my breathing ragged. I felt Zak's arms around me, but I pushed him away this time. "N-no... stay-ay back-k," a growl interrupted me, "I-I don't," I gasped painfully, "want to hurt-urt y-you..."

I watched his expression sadden. "You wont hurt me Eve." This time I curled gratefully into his arms, starting to sob as the transformation settled into the final stages.

"Will I r-remember y-you?" I sobbed, limp against him.

"I don't know..." He whispered. He sounded scared for both our fate's.

I touched his cheek with one hand, wiping away the tear there. I smiled at him through the pain. "If-f you ever tur-urn full hunt-ter, I will find-d you... and I will help you back to you..." I whispered.

I watched his mouth twist into a strange expression, and wished that I could see his eyes, just this once. But he was a hunter. You never see hunters' eyes'.

A fierce growl escaped my throat, more feral than any of the others. I looked at him. "I guess this is it then... Goodbye..." I got all choked up, but in the next instant it didn't matter.

I didn't know who I was.
I didn't know this strange hunter holding me.
All I knew was instinct, which was screaming at me to RUN!

I bared my sharpened teeth and snarled, then pushed away, sprinting on all fours into the night.
