Signs and Angels
"I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings." - Psalm 61:4
Am I doing the right thing? Sue-Ann wondered. She couldn't help but see the irony of fleeing her old life by Greyhound bus that was now snarled in traffic.
Gazing through the rain-speckled window she saw two men, dirty and bruised, sitting on a bench. They look like they've been through Hell.
The heavens rumbled and opened in a downpour. She watched the man in the tan overcoat wrap a protective arm around his unconscious companion.
They aren't getting wet!
There was a flash of lightning and Sue-Ann saw the shadow of huge wings forming a shelter from the elements around them.
The angel? looked up and transfixed her with piercing eyes. Barely moving, he nodded in her direction, and she knew it was meant for her.
Sue-Ann's heart pounded in her chest, but she knew she'd be fine.
With a squeal of gears, the bus continued on its way.

Gimme Shelter
"War, children, it's just a shot away.../...I tell you love, sister, it's just a kiss away" - 'Gimme Shelter', The Rolling Stones
"Seek the LORD... Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the LORD's anger." - Zephaniah 2:3
She'd watched her brother die; his life stolen by the Winchesters with a single shot.
Vengeance ain't just the Lord's.
She reveled in the pain of taking His name in vain.
I'll make them pay.
Their father fell at the hands of her own and she dedicated herself to killing everyone they'd loved.
Clarence put stop to that.
"God forgives, he'll shelter you from harm," he'd said, putting it in terms she understood: a crossroads-deal kiss that burned her heart and lips.
She'd wept at his passing. On his return she laughed at the truth of his assumed name 'Emmanuel'.
A/N: 'Emmanuel' means "God is with us". It may not be theologically correct, but I think that Cas is trying to save Meg as part of his own process of redemption.
