Chapter 1: the first few tests never run smooth
A/N: I know what you're all thinking, why are you making another story when you have so many unfinished ones that need to be completed? What can I say? When I get an idea, I can't leave it alone until I post it lol.
It seems like Tadashi is really popular though huh? I guess Disney didn't realize that when they created him (or maybe they did). Either way, I'm on the Tadashi bandwagon and decided to make up a story too. Hopefully you guys will enjoy this.
And just a little heads up this story takes place roughly a year before the events of the movie so Hiro would still be in High School and such.
Well, without further ado, here's my story!
Disclaimer: I don't own Big Hero 6; I just own my OC's.
Enjoy!

The sound of metal rang through the lab as Tadashi scraped yet another part of his project. You would think that after 20 tests he would figure out what was causing it to glitch but sadly he wasn't finding anything. It seemed building a nurse bot was a lot harder then he originally though it would be. He just hoped that he would figure out what was causing it to act up because with the way he was working, he was going to keel over and would need his bot to revive him.
Rubbing his face, he decided to call it a day. He wasn't one to give up on a challenge but even geniuses needed a break every now and then.
Closing his lab, he decided to see how everyone else was fairing on their projects.
As he got to the common area he saw that his friends were calling it quits seemed they weren't getting far with their ideas either and needed a break too before they lost their minds. With finals approaching, everyone was pretty much pulling all nighters to get their projects completed.
It wasn't odd to see a student or two camping out in their labs for the night so they could finish the last minute adjustments to their projects.
Tadashi found himself doing that a few times. Sure, it wasn't funny sleeping in a sleeping bag in his lab, but he knew in the end it would be worth it. His idea was going to help out so many people in the long run. He always grew up believing that help should always be out there for someone when they needed it. But in the meantime, he needed to help himself. He didn't think it was a good idea building a robot when he was sleep he made it to his friends, he caught Fred and Wasabi in a heated debate about how it was impossible to make an actual shrink ray and that it would take years for someone to actually figure it out.
Tadashi just smirked at his friends. They all went to High School together, sharing the same passion for science, hoping one day they would go down in history for making something revolutionary. They were all a bunch of geeks, spending their spare time building rockets that could fly over the campus to figuring out complex formulas. They were the greatest friends you could have asked for and Tadashi wouldn't want to change a thing about that.
Plopping down in one of the available seats, he finally let his body relax after a long day.
"Decided to call it quits too?" Wasabi asked.
Tadashi nodded as he yawned.
"Still can't figure out why Baymax isn't working, but I'm sure I'll figure it out" he said.
"Just don't overdo it again" Gogo said. Last time Tadashi spent an all nighter in his lab, they found him passed out with one of his wielding tools still running in his hand.
Tadashi laughed nervously, still remembering how Gogo chewed him up for being reckless .
Honey Lemon smiled when she saw Tadashi and pulled out her phone suddenly.
"Oh, Tadashi. I chatted with one of my classmates from Chemistry today and I think you would really like her" she said.
Tadashi groaned, not liking what Honey was doing.
"Honey Lemon, are you trying to set me up on another blind date?"
Being the social butterfly of the group, Honey Lemon had the tendencies to try to set her friends up on dates with some of the other students. She claimed that it wasn't right that a bunch of nerds should stay locked up in their labs and should socialize with others. But in all truth and honesty she just wanted to play matchmaker.
"Oh, come on Tadashi, she seems really nice" Honey pouted.
"Yeah, that's what you said about the last girl you tried to hook up with Tadashi and she ended up being insane" Fred teased.
Tadashi shuddered thinking about that time.
"I appreciate the gesture, but I' gonna have to pass on this one" he said.
"Besides, I'm this close to getting Baymax done, I don't have time to date anyone""Yeah, because you're so busy when you're not here" Gogo teased.
"Sometimes I think you're married to your work"
The group laughed, knowing it was true. Being a robotics nerd usually meant you really didn't have a social life outside of class. The fact that Tadashi didn't have a girlfriend was proof of that.
Growing embarrassed, Tadashi tugged his hat further down his face and grabbed his bag.
"I'm going home" he muttered.
He headed towards the elevator, hearing his friends still call out to him.
"Come on, Tadashi, we were just joking" Wasabi said.
"Yeah, I'm sure you could get yourself a girlfriend" Fred added.
"In fact, if you get a girlfriend by the end of the year, you can use me as a test subject for your project"
Tadashi just pushed the button that would lead him to the schools entrance and watched as the doors closed, separating him from his friends. He sighed as he leaned his head against the wall. Why were his friends so obsessed with his personal life? Why was he bothered by it? True, he didn't have a girlfriend at the moment but that wasn't a bad thing. He was sure none of his friends were seeing anyone at the moment either.
He shouldn't let this bother him. He had thing to focus on and dating someone wasn't at the top of his list at the moment. Once he was done with Baymax then he would start dating...maybe, it just depended on if Baymax would actually work this time or not.
It seemed at this rate, he was going to have to build himself a girlfriend otherwise he was going to be single forever.

A/N: Poor Tadashi, looks like his friends like to interfere with his personal life. Sorry if this was a sucky intro. It's always hard to figure out how to start off a story. Next chapter should be much better hopefully.
In the meantime, feel free to review and tell me what you think about this story so far. Any feedback will be much appreciated.
Until next time!
Ja ne!
