Every day was a constant battlefield.

Whenever he woke up, the enemies were around him. How he gets himself into these situations he never knew. But, he didn't let that stop him. He killed them. Every last one of them. He gave no mercy, no heart, just pure, unadulterated killing. He had to defend himself. It was either do it or die.

But he had his standards. He would never kill someone who cannot defend himself/herself, such as a baby, a disabled person, or an elderly.

Or her.

She was the most interesting of them all. Her quivering, shaking posture made him wonder why she drafted in the army. But…he found it cute. He found her cute.

And it confused him to greater ends.

She was an enemy! She worked for the Tiger General with no questions. He should hate her! He should be ripping her guts! Stabbing her! Shooting her! And many other torturous methods he could think of!

And yet…he loved her.

Actually, at first, he killed her like he would to any other enemy soldier. But she kept coming back somehow. So he killed her again. And each time he did, there was an emotion he'd never felt before…guilt. Of course, he'd never show it.

And so the guilt kept growing every time he killed her. So one day, when he faced her, he did not kill her at all. And that confused and angered him.

Instead every day, he stalked her. Watching her every move as his burning desire grew…

He hated how she made him love her.

He loved everything about her. Her shy, meek, vulnerable demeanor, the large amount of dandruff in her hair, and her fur…her fur was red.

Blood red. His favorite color.

God he loved her. Just thinking of her was making him insane. And yet he knew they could never be together due to their circumstances.

And she never knew how he felt.

And he hoped she never will.

…

So yeah…one-shot. Do I even need to ask who's narrating here? Of course not. Also, if you're wondering why "she" isn't a blue tiger, well, the enemies couldn't have all been tigers, right? I just mostly picture the Tree Friends in Tiger Soldier clad when "you-know-who" is in delusion. It's just my headcanon.
