Prolouge

A/N: Hi everyone, and welcome to my first story! I'm not too sure how I want to play this out, but I had the general idea, and thought I'd make a story out of it. Hopefully you'll like it!

[Time: Present]

Location: The Bunker

"It's my fault he's gone, Sam!"

Dean's brother gave a heavy sigh. Sam watched from his seat at the table as Dean restlessly paced back and forth.

"You can't blame yourself entirely," Sam commented, waving his hand in a useless gesture. "Both of you needed to talk it out and it just went south."

"And yet I'm here and Cas is the one paying," Dean said, whipping around to face his brother. "All because I shouted and spewed lies to him." Dean glanced to the table where his bag was resting. "We need to find him."

Sam got up and grabbed Dean's hand before Dean could yank the bag away. "We don't even know where he went." Sam sighed. "Look, we'll go find Cas, but we need to do this the reasonable way."

Dean dropped the bag, giving Sam a cold stare. "When do we ever do something reasonable?"

Sam groaned and sat back down as Dean headed to the kitchen, presumably to get a beer.

Location: Natus Forest

"I do hope you see reason, brother. This man has brought you nothing but agony and struggles."

Silence.

A sigh.

"Brother, I'm here for you. You don't have to be alone. Please tell me you understand my point of view."

Blue eyes hazily glance up.

"I've tried to hear your side, but we both know where that took you. You need to be with your real family. Do you understand, Castiel?"

"Yes."
