Entering the hospital, Gray carries a motionless Juvia as he screams "SOMEBODY HELP ME!"; doctors help the poor girl on a bed as they see several gunshot wounds towards her torso. A nurse tells Gray for him to sit in the waiting room but he demands that he stays with her. "I don't wanna leave her alone dammit! Now let me in with her!" Says a determined Gray, it would be half an hour later when Natsu and Lucy enter the hospital for Gray to agree in waiting, Natsu asks Gray "How did this happen? I wanna beat up the sons of bitches who hurt my friend!" Gray claims that he already did the job for him several hours ago. "It all started... all started at... sorry I...," Gray was trying so hard to not cry as he was telling the recent of events between him and Juvia. "Gray! It's okay," said Lucy "she'll be fine. Just tell us from the start.", with that, Gray mans up and tries to explain everything.
"I was out walking," said Gray "just minding my own business until Juvia went to talk to me. Of course I didn't want to be annoyed by her so I tried running away.". As he continues, Gray starts to have a tremble sound when talking. "Then there was a time I actually lost her... however that's when a couple of random men were there with her... and they tried to do things to her... but she fought back and... I'm such a dumbass!"
Lucy then tries to calm Gray down, "Keep going, you're doing great!" Gray tries his best as he continues, "I heard her and how she was calling my name, but as a cry for help rather than usual. That's when I heard five gunshots and ran to her as fast as I can, when I made it, those monsters... I can't even describe it! Doing things only psychos do, so I kicked their asses before they might've shot Juvia again. Afterwards I picked up Juvia and ran here... she only wanted to ask if I knew where Erza was... and I... I... I was nervous!"
Confused, Natsu and Lucy ask Gray what he meant "Exactly what it means!" Yelled Gray "I was just nervous to talk to her! I thought that I didn't her scarf on at the time, and I wanted her to see me with it so! I just wanna apologize to her!". As he finishes with the story, a doctor enters asking for anyone who knew Juvia, "Well, some of the bleeding has stopped, but we still have three bullets in her so we may have to do surgery. But, with the amount of blood she lost, I think you know the rest.". "Do it!" Commanded Gray "Help her, Patch her up, make her better! That's your thing doctor! Or are you the kind of doctors who don't do their job right?" Natsu tries calming down a highly pissed Gray as the doctor tells them "We'll do our best, you should see her now, she's asleep but this may be the only moment we have."
Standing outside of Juvia's room, Gray waits for Natsu and Lucy to leave so he could see Juvia alone. "We're all good here Gray," says Natsu "all yours."; Gray slowly walks into an unconscious Juvia as he sits himself down. "Here! The scarf you gave me. I don't deserve it, even today." Although acting calm, he sees Juvia's face and realizes that she actually cute; "I'm sorry! For being me! For trying to keep away! You were just being nice and I treated it as a fucking joke!" soon Gray starts crying again but this time he holds on to Juvia's hand. "If you love someone, you have a reason to live right? Like you said?... Dammit answer me! I tried to live because of you! Because if it weren't for you, I'd be dead for a long time! If you live...I-I'll stop ignoring you! I'll stay with you! For as long as you like! Just please! Don't-" and at that moment he hears her heart monitor go flat. "Juvia? Don't! I just said! No! DOCTOR!".
Hours went by as the three wait for the results, only this time, Gray can't hold in his tears anymore; both Natsu and Lucy try to hug the damaged Gray as he thinks there's no reason for him to live anymore. Minutes later the doctor enters with the news, "Doc!" Says Natsu "How'd it go?", the doctor answers it saying it was a success, and that Juvia's actually able to see them at this time.
"I'm glad you're okay Juvia!" Says Lucy "Thank you! But Juvia feels guilty for having you guys worry!". As both girls talked, Natsu and Gray are outside discussing what's gonna happen; "Now Gray make sure you go in easy as you both communicate but make it so that you're in control of everythi-AGHH!" Before finishing, Natsu's punched by not only Gray, but Lucy as she was leaving the room, "Don't listen to him Gray, just do your best!
As Gray enters, Juvia says assuming it was someone else "Did you forget something Lu-" suddenly she sees what appears to be a dried up Gray in front of her. "Juvia's sorry! Juvia should've walked away from Gray-sama." With that, Gray snaps and goes with his gut; "Gray-sam-" before she could ask, Gray has himself kissing Juvia while crying. "There's no need for apologizing Juvia! Look I'm sorry! For me being me! And treating you like crap! But not anymore! Thank you for being there when I least expect it! Because it's better when we're together!". "HEY THAT'S MINE!" Says Natsu outside the room.
By the time Juvia was able to leave, Gray took precautions everywhere to make sure that Juvia was fine. As for Natsu and Lucy they called everyone that Juvia was okay, and then some to Erza, "Wait? Gray and Juvia are a-? One moment!" waiting for what happened, Lucy hears screams of joy and a lot of the word "yes" from Erza's side of the line. Soon Erza returns to the phone and says, "That's nice! Well I'll talk to you later, bye!".
