Unlike the rest of the underground labyrinth of dark rooms, this room was lit by a single bulb in the center of the ceiling. It shone bright, casting shadows into the empty hall just outside. Inside, a lone man stood with his back to the light, shadowing his front as looking through the tinted glass window. The other side was as dark as night, but he knew what was in there. His creation. As he thought of it, a sinister grin took over his expressionless face. Though it quickly disappeared when he heard something coming down the hall. He turned himself around to greet the other man who had just entered.
The second man looked much scrawnier than the other man. He wore a white lab coat that touched the floor. A pair of glasses rested on the edge of his nose. His face was flushed red, probably from all the running.
"Sorry I'm late, sir. I-" the scientist began in a quiet voice, but the other man raised a hand to halt his talking, then began to speak himself.
"I do not care for your excuses" he spoke in a dark, low voice. He took a step into the light. The smaller man took a step back, being unnerved by the man's intimidating look. He stood a head taller, and his legs stretched high. His arms bent at the elbows, with his bony, gloved hands clasped together. His shining, black shoes clumped along the tiled floor. His dark suit covered all of his thin body, except for his head. When the scientist his face, he felt even more feared by the man. His nose stuck out and curved down, his lips pursed out and his black hair was slick back so none of his pale white skin was covered. But what struck him the most was his dark, brown eyes. He could see a fire burning in them. A fire of evil. "I hope you are not late again, for if you are, I will have to make an example. Am I clear?" The scientist felt himself shaking in fear, and tried his best to hide it.
"Y-y-yes. Perfectly un-understood" he stuttered, giving away his fear. The man smiled at this.
"Good. Now, what do you have for me, ?" The scientist took his time to answer, as he was still cowering. He nodded shakily.
"Y-yes. It's the data you requested, s-sir." He pulled a file from under his coat, and the man snatched it from his hand. He flicked through it, his eyes getting wider and wider with excitement. Once he was done, he showed off another grin.
"You have done well. How long until it is ready?" he asked, handing it back. The scientist showed his relief with a smile back, but he did not completely stop shaking. Only his hands trembled slightly.
"At least another three days." The man nodded his head slowly and turned to the window again. He flipped a switch, lighting the room. Inside, there was a tank with liquid. And in the liquid, a creature was frozen in a suspended animation, it's shape distorted by the liquid.
"Soon, we shall have our revenge" he murmured, the evil smile appearing again.
And so the sequel has begun. For all those who can't wait, the next chapter will be out tomorrow. So see you then, and don't forget to review :)
