Miles spend majority of his time drunk and just passed out. He never was an alcoholic until he left the militia. He tried to drown out the memories of him killing all those people. So, he would just sit at his bar and try to forget everything from his past. That was actually working for him until Charlie showed up. He wishes he could say that if he knew that was her and what she wanted from the get-go he would have walked away, he wishes he could say that. The fact of the madder is that as soon as he saw her blue eyes walk in to his bar some part of him knew who she was. You can never forget family.
Miles was tossing and turning all night. Every since they lost Danny again he couldn't get a full nights rest. Not that he was the only one; Charlie hasn't slept more then 30 mins. since Maggie died. Nora can see that they both need to open up to each other but the will not. Charlie is convinced that anyone she lets close will leave her and is afraid to let Miles in. Miles doesn't want to let Charlie in because he is scared that when she learns of every thing he has done she will leave. He knows she will leave. He wants to be able to break ties with her fast in short when that day comes.
The truth of the madder is that nether one is really going to leave. Charlie loves him; she has since she was a baby. Miles could never walk away from her, he loves her, more so now, since she has be come this strong independent women. When Miles got that last phone call from Ben he would have never thought that it would have been to tell him that the power was going out. Miles has a lot of regrets. Helping Charlie and her Scooby gang? That was no where near that list.
Nora can see that it is going to take a traumatic event to get these two to open up. She just fears what it is going to be.
