Scars
—
The rain is blinding: a torrent that washes everything to grey. No one sane would be out in the storm, which is why Tim is. He's balancing precariously on the roof ledge of the Tower. If anyone were to see him now they'd get angry. But that's the whole point of the storm: so no one will see him.
Because he can't handle today. Today is a Bad Day and Tim feels like he's losing it. Because, because everyone leaves him. They leave him because they don't want Tim. They don't want who he is. They don't understand either. Try to change him to fit their idea instead of loving him for who he is.
They want the perfect son, the perfect boyfriend, the perfect robot. Not Tim.
Because. Because Tim isn't perfect. He's not but he's okay with not being perfect. Doesn't want to be perfect. He has the scars to prove it. He has the scars they leave to prove it too.
So here he is hiding in the torrential downpour and forcing himself to stay still. Because if he moves he won't stop organizing or cleaning or washing his hands and his team will know something is wrong.
That he's not okay. That he's doesn't like it. Because he wants to be perfect for his team because they are for him. Perfect in their flaws and in their love for him.
But he knows that when they find out he's not perfect they'll leave just like everyone else.
So he doesn't want them to know.
They shouldn't have to deal with that.
—
He should go inside. Because he can't feel the rain or cold anymore, but he can't bring himself to care. He's not ready to go inside. He's still freaking out and he doesn't want to go inside even though he's past the point of freezing.
He's also pretty sure the gale just nearly pushed him off the ledge he was perched on.
'Inside Tim. You can't help anyone out here.'
A clash of thunder and the gale hits him again just as he's trying to stand.
Tim falls. Down the side of the Tower and he can't make his body move to try to save himself. Is he even worth it? Probably to someone. But that someone is probably far away and doesn't know what's happening.
Tim closes his eyes and suddenly he's burning. Burning and stopping. The body encasing him is too hot.
—
Tim wakes up shaking and feeling like he'd been in an explosion. He's not sure why at first but then he remembers hours in the storm and falling.
"That was so fucking stupid."
Tim groans and rolls over because he doesn't want to deal with anyone right now. Especially not his team.
Because he has to be perfect for them.
Kon doesn't say anything else but Tim knows he's still there, so he rolls back over and cracks open one eye.
The look of anger makes Tim want to cringe and go hide. But he puts on his Bat mask and just stares back.
Kon just crosses his arms and glares harder.
—
Tim is wobbling, trying to make it to the bathroom. But his legs aren't working properly and Kon is hovering.
"I'm fine Kon."
"Only because I was watching the entire time!"
Kon flinches back, looking angrier at himself now than at Tim. Tim blinks because why was Kon watching? He was up there over four hours.
"The entire time."
"Yeah. You looked out of it. Wanted to make sure you were okay Wonder Boy." Kon turns his head away and scratches his cheek.
Tim finds it very attractive and is taken over by the urge to press their lips together.
So he does.
