It's A Long Long Way to Ba-Sing-Sey
This is a more detailed summary of the fanfic:
Based of my friend Josh's roleplay, this is a fanfic taking place right after the movie, The Fury of Aang. It's all about Aang's quest to find Appa, master earthbending and firebending and defeat the Fire Lord. Zuko, a refugee in Ba-Sing-Sey, meets a young waterbender girl, and befriends her. What happens when Cari befriends both the groups? Can Aang and Zuko put aside their difference to work together?
Well, I hope you all enjoy the story. Please forgive me if I don't get chapters up very quickly. I have a lot going on and school will be starting for me soon.

Aang had been quiet for majority of the walk out of the desert, and he stayed close to Katara. He shut his eyes and listened as the sand-benders apologized again and again, before heading back into the desert. Aang turned around and looked over the horizon.
"C'mon." Aang said, "Let's go." Aang sighed quietly and began walking.
Toph followed Aang quietly. He'd been distant to her ever since she had let Appa slip through her fingers. She felt incredibly horrible about it, and couldn't apologize without him ignoring him.
"Aang, I'm really sorry. I don't know how many times I'm going to have to say it before you realize that I did my hardest to stop them and save all you both. I promise, I'll do whatever it takes to get him back," she apologized, shutting her eyes as a tear came out of her sightless eye. Aang continued walking, not looking towards Toph as she spoke. The airbender knew it wasn't her fault that Appa was gone, she tried her hardest. Except he wanted someone to blame, and it was her unfortunately.
"I know." was all Aang said. "I'm sorry too Toph."
Katara smiled as she watched Aang forgive Toph in some way.
"Thank you Aang," she whispered, and put her arm around his shoulders.
"There, once we enter we can find Appa and tell everyone when the next solar eclipse will be!" She said. Aang nodded lightly looking towards Katara.
"Right." Aang said softly. "But...we have to find Appa first." Aang clenched his fists at his side. He was still pretty upset that someone would have stolen him.
"We'll find him. How hard can it be to find a humoungous flying bison?" Katara asked with a grin on her face
"Probably as hard as it is to steal one." Aang mumbled looking at the ground. Toph winced at that last comment, but let it slide. After all, one of the last things he had left of his culture was taken from him. A horrible feeling went through her gut.
"Plus, you've never been to Ba Sing Sei. It's one of the biggest cities in the world, and I can bet that the war hasn't changed it. Only made it stronger." Aang sighed quietly as they approached the gates of the city. Aang looked up at the guards.
"We need to enter the city." Aang said.
"State your business." The guards said.
"I'm the Avatar and we ha-" Aang had barely got out the word Avatar when the gates of the city, rather the MANY gates of the city began to move out of their way.
"Please enter." Aang blinked but entered all the same.
I hope you all like the first chapter! Up next: Zuko and Cari - First Meeting
