Jack was no fool, though he was somewhat naïve. He was weaker somehow, the baby of their family.

He could fight, could pretend to be tougher then he really was. He could imitate his brothers, revere and envy Bobby's strength. He could lie, cheat, steal and fight, fire a gun (though his aim was poor) and calm Bobby down like no one else could.

He could hold Bobby to his chest, whisper the words that diffused the volatile, legendary temper each and every time.

He could love him, the best way he knew how, the way Bobby needed him to.
