Subject: Christmas Plans!

My dearest Arturia,

Thank you very much for the chocolates and postcard you sent last week. It is always so wonderful to hear from you, even more so when you send gifts! It reminds me of when my father used to send gifts home from his travels when I was a child - though perhaps comparing your girlfriend to your father is a bit of a faux pas.

I am glad to hear London is treating you well. Your flatmates sound quirky - in a good way, of course. And I'm sure you'll be able to make new friends soon. You've always been well liked. Perhaps there are hobby groups you can join, or something of the sort? Keep your chin up.

I'm so excited to visit you for the holidays! Is there anything you want me to bring? I think I'll get some chocolates for your flatmates, is there a brand they might prefer? If not, I'll just bring some Celebrations. Oh, and maybe some wine? Let me know what you think.

Cornwall gets so boring without you here. Poor Lance has been trying to keep me distracted so I don't miss you too much, even though I'm certain feels your absence just as much as I do. He has been such a comfort to me these past few weeks. We should make sure to get him a nice gift this Christmas.

Last weekend we went for an early morning hike up to Avalon Lake, and oh, it was beautiful. The lake has already frozen over, and the grass was tipped with frost when we arrived. It looked absolutely magical, like something out of a fairy tale. I must remember to email you the photos I took. I told Lancelot about your promise to take me ice skating this Christmas, and how you used to skate on Avalon Lake with your father years ago. You should have seen his face, Arturia! He swore you have the balance of a one-legged cat, and said the only thing you've ever done on that lake is nearly drown. (Thankfully he doesn't know about the skinny dipping...)

In any case, I'm very much looking forward to our skating date. We should book our tickets soon. Where would you like to go? I thought the Tower of London might be a nice venue, but I'll leave the decision up to you since you're the expert on these matters.

I miss you.

All my love,

Gwen xxx
