"Let's go, Polyhymnia!"

The giant, sky blue humanoid automaton, Polyhymnia, fired a powerful energy ray from its singular eye. This energy ray hit a giant object that resembled a stereotypical spaceship from a sci-fi movie. While this energy blast was reflected in other directions, destroying a few surrounding, smaller, similiar ships, most of it was deflected back towards Polyhymnia, which, with a singular punch, slammed through the energy blast as it delivered a spinning kick, right in the ship's wing, damaging it.

"Curse you, foolish Earthling," the damaged ship speaks in a masculine, mechanical voice, "even after being reduced to scraps, my honour as GR-3T3L4, third prince of the Labori, will never be crushed. While my body goes to the- UGH!"

Polyhymnia tosses the damaged ship at the surrounding, smaller ships that attempted to close in and surround it.

It was a long battle that ended in another victory for the Muse Unit Polyhymnia's pilot, Ayase Eli. Without anyone to command them, the remaining, smaller ships retreated into the distance of dark space as Eli aimed laser blasts at a few of them.

"Well, that's all for now," Eli speaks, "Ayase to Colonel Minami, I'm heading back right now."

"Today was one hell of a hectic day, huh?"

The blonde-ponytailed girl, Ayase Eli, walked along the street. By her side was Tojo Nozomi, her best friend and fellow Muse Unit pilot.

"Well, I guess we have to do what we have to do. Even on holidays. Our rest days are as much as the Labori," Nozomi smiles, "it would be great if we had more pilots to come to our aid, would it not?"

"I don't know. I have to admit, it would lessen my burden of school work, Student Council President Work and fighting those alien robot guys, but on the other hand, I am unsure if I can just leave the fate of the universe in the hands of a bunch of... well... regular people."

"The cards," Nozomi pulls a card from her deck of tarot cards, "they predict that a bright future is up ahead. I don't think the ones who will join us eventually will be as 'regular' as you think they are."

The Star shines bright

"I hope so," Eli speaks, "you know Nozomi, I know what I keep saying every other time, but you're almost like a parent to me."

"I... see..." Nozomi blushes as she smiles, "kind of funny, I always saw you as a parent to me."

As the duo laughed a little, Eli and Nozomi then walk into Eli's house, which was completely dark on this very evening.

Eli flicked the lights on, and to her surprise, her little sister, Arisa, popped from a table to scream 'Happy birthday, sister!'.

"I- it's really that time again? 21st October?"

"Harasho," Arisa responds, "it's that time again. Don't tell me you forgot. Nozomi and I planned the whole thing."

"I guess I forgot again, just like last year and the year before," Eli scratches her head, "anyways, how many people did you invite? I don't think the three of us can handle this spread."

"No one," Arisa said, "just the three of us and the three of us alone."

"Ha... harasho..." Eli was a little stunned.

"Well, happy birthday, Elichi," Nozomi greets, "now, let's light the candles on the cake."

"Let's," Eli responds with a thumbs up.

"We actually finished it all," Eli puts her shoulders on Nozomi's and Arisa's backs. "I don't know where I'd be without you two."

"Sister," Arisa inquires, "what was your wish, anyways?"

"I don't think I can tell you," Eli winks, "it won't come true if I say it."
