Thunder Gods

There was a reason Alphonse always told him not to sleep with his stomach exposed. He never quite understood why his brother would say such strange things. Well, until now.

"Brother!" Alphonse fretted, dropping his book down on the floor. " Your stomach! Pull down your shirt!"

"Al... Go away... I'm ti-mhmm..." His words faded as he flopped over and mumbled into his pillow.

Towering over the side of the bed, Alphonse's metal body clunked as he rolled his older brother back over.

"But the Thunder God will steal your belly button!" The suit of armor cried out in horror.

Edward glanced up -still half asleep- at his brother with disbelief. "My what?"

"... Your belly button..."

"Right... And what does he plan to do with my belly button once he has it?"

"H-He'll eat it!"

"The hell he will! I like to see him try! Uh, I mean... Al there's no such thing."

"But, brother..."

"Alright, so where's your proof?"

"They say he likes innies and outies!" Alphonse placed his hands on his helmet in fear, "And he always comes during thunderstorms!"

"Look out the window.." Edward realized the lack of a window in their room, " Or better yet, listen. Does it sound like a storm out there?"

"No..."

"See! Nothing to worry about!"

"But it could change in only seconds!" Alphonse let out a wary sigh, "Maybe you should buy bigger underwear. That way your stomach is never exposed!"

Edward glared, "No way! I'm not gonna be caught dead in granny panties!"

"I never said that..."

"Yeah? Well!" He pushed the blankets off the bed and they tumbled to to floor in a heap, "That's the first thing I pictured!"

"What have you been thinking about lately?!"

It only escalated from there, Edward didn't go back to sleep and Alphonse never finished the next chapter of The Mechanic and the Beast. And needless to say, Edward went shopping in the morning.
