Chapter One: The Beginning

Who am I?

What am I?

Why am I here?

I open my eyes. I immediately see green. Green grass. Green trees. Green slimes. The only things that are not green are me, the sky, and copper tools.

Copper tools? Where did I get copper tools?

I survey the terrain. To the left leads me to a desert. The right leads me to snow. Which would be better? Burning in the heat of desert sand? Or freezing in ice?

I realize that I don't feel anything. I don't feel cold. Or hot. Or anything, for that matter. To the left. I mean, why not? I need to head out anyway. I just know that I do.

The desert is pretty barren. The only things I see are sand, cacti, and some huge birds. As I continue to walk forward, the huge birds start to fly away from their perches on the ground. They fly around me, and something tells me that they're not my allies. One dives down, and instinctively I pull out my copper sword and swing. It doesn't reach far and barely hurts the bird at all. I figure that a good thing to do now is run.

The birds chase me down. Even as I reach the edge of the desert and head into a place that is bright purple, the birds continue their chase. I reach a dark cavern that looks very deep. I know for a fact that I can't jump to the other side. The only thing I can do now is swing my sword.

The same bird I hit before dives down and knocks be backward. This is bad. This is really, really bad. I fall through darkness into an abyss of purple and black.
