Beth was more than happy to just hang out in her bedroom considering anywhere else she would have to listen to the endless flirting with Plum. Sometimes it made her a little jealous that guys gave Plum all that praise and hardly paid any attention to her, but she tried not to care. After all, it's not even like she wanted a boyfriend.
"So, how've you been?" Plum asked after she locked the door
"Hm, oh, I've been good. We went on a mission to Zgraxxis a little while ago. Danny caught Zgraxxis fever ….. and I got a tail."
"Um …. Ok." Plum wasn't entirely sure how to respond to this, so she changed the subject as quickly as possible. "So, what's going on with you and Chris?"
"What?" Beth was certain that her face had turned as red as her sticker cat.
"Oh, you know what I mean. You guys got a biz going on." Plum gave a sexy smile and a wink
At this point you could feel the awkward in the air.
"I have no idea where you got that idea, but there is nothing going on between me and Chris." Beth turned away to put some music on, but really she just couldn't look Plum I the eye.
"Really, nothing? Come on Beth, it's obvious that you guys like each other."
"WHAT! W-WE DO NOT!" Beth could feel her heart race as she tried to dodge the subject.
"Haven't you ever seen the way he looks at you? He's crazy about you!"
"Chris and I have been best friends since we were little kids. He probably thinks of me as a sister, not a girlfriend."
Plum rolled her eyes "Ya ok, but you like him don't you?"
"I-I DO NOT! Well it not that I don't like him, b-but I don't like him a romantic way!"
Plum was giving her the biggest 'oh really' face she had ever seen.
"Give me a break Plum, I don't like him like that." She paused and though for a second "It's not like I'm saying I would never like him … but … I just don't … he … he's interesting."
"So there's nothing going on with you two?"
"No."
"Absolutely nothing?"
"There is absolutely nothing going on between us. You know I'm not that interested in dating."
"Ya, I know." Plum sighed
"Why are you even asking?" Beth finally realized that this kind of gossip wasn't normal for her and Plum.
"Oh, no reason."
Just the way Plum said this made her skin crawl. She wasn't interested in Chris, so why did they idea of Plum going after him bother her so much. Did she like him?
