MadSwan Chapter One
Emma could hardly believe the things that had transpired since she came to Storybrooke. She found her parents, who were Snow White and Prince Charming. She discovered that fairytales and magic are real. She became enemies with the Evil Queen, and she had even been kidnapped by the Mad Hatter. She had been lounging around in the loft when there was a knock at the door. Looking through the peephole she was surprised to see Jefferson on the other side of the door. Although she believed somewhat in second chances, she was still wary of the man in front of her.
"Um can I help you?" She was puzzled as she couldn't figure out a good reason for him to be there.
In return, he looked slightly awkward as he rubbed his hand on the back of his head.
"Well...I uh I wanted to apologize for what I did to you and to your mother. Whether you believe me or not, I truly meant you no harm. I was desperate you see and well desperate times do call for extreme measures. "
Emma just looked at him and after a few seconds, decided that he was sincere in his apology at any rate.
"That's uh okay. There was no permanent damage and besides you were correct even if your methods were...creative. Would you like to come in?" She opens the door standing back allowing him entrance. He blinks surprised not expecting her to...forgive him that easily or quickly. He walks in looking around, taking in the coziness.
"You ah have a nice place. It has more life than my place does."
Emma closed the door and walked over to the island.
" Thanks but it's Mary Margaret's place. Ever since the curse she has been letting me stay here although its more like insisting. How are uh things with Grace?"
"They're good...she's good." When he turns around to face her, his eyes are red with emotion.
"You saved us Emma. I can have my happy ending now. All I want...all I've ever wanted was to be her father and to make her happy. I can do that now, thanks to you."
Emma shook her head. "Hey don't look at me. All I did was kiss Henry's forehead. You took the initiative to talk to Grace not me."
Jefferson shrugged a little shaking his head. "Unless someone like you cared a whole lot...nothing would have changed."
