James Sirius Potter stormed down the hall toward his girlfriend's office. An all too familiar black velvet box beat his leg from his pocket as he did so. He was done with waiting. James Potter was a man who knew what he wanted and he was finally going to get what he wanted.

For the past four months, he had been trying to propose to his girlfriend, Zoey, but whenever he was about to 'pop the question,' someone would steal the moment right from the tips of his fingers! The first time, New Year's Day, it was his sister, Lily. Then his mother, Zoey's father, his father (of all people!), Uncle Ron, Aunt Angelina, Hugo, his friend Todd, his boss, and his coworker, Scorpius. He's tried romantic dinners, a getaway weekend to Paris, the, in his opinion, highly dangerous ring in the pastry (Zoey had actually ruined that attempt herself by deciding to bring light to walnuts that were in the cake of which he had baked himself). He tried a love note that Zoey's father tossed into the fire, thinking it was from one of his mistresses and didn't want his wife finding out. He tried firework letters his Uncle Fred prepared for him, but the fuse was stolen from Uncle Ron. James believed in rotten luck, but with not 35 attempts in the bag, there had to be something wrong with the balance of the world.

As James reflected on all of his proposal ideas being soiled by the people around him, the anger and frustration only boiled more intensely to the point of when he got to Zoey's office, he threw the door open.

"Here!" he shouted at a shell-shocked Zoey. "Take it! Marry me!" James thrust the ring box into her had and wrapped her fingers around it. Without even thinking to wait for a response, James stormed out of the office. He didn't even notice the Minister of Magic sitting opposite of the desk.

Zoey, still in shock, looked down at the ring box and timidly opened it.

AN: so, that's my story. Yes, I am fully aware that is was left off at a cliff hanger. I figured that I might write a sequel. However, I shall be requiring 10 reviews saying they want a sequel, otherwise I'll assume it is good as is. Long story short, you want to know what happens, review!
