The Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before christmas, what some call christmas eve

Not a Greaser was stirring, not even Steve

-x-

Only six stockings were hung up in bliss

For Dallas didn't believe in St Nicholas

-x-

The Greasers were sleeping all around the place

Their heads as blank as outer space

With Pony and I lying down on the mat

After finishing our unusually long chat

When outside the house arose such a clatter

I sprang from my sleep to see what was the matter

Away to the window I was like a cat

From my uncomfortable spot on the small, black mat

The moon shone down on the newly falled snow

As it illuminated all the objects below

What I saw shone brightly, clear as day

Was eight small reindeer and a big red sleigh

-x-

And a really fat guy, with a big huge belly

With bright red clothes and a laugh so jolly

My eyes grew wide as toward me they came

The huge guy whistled then called them by name;

"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!

On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!

Go to the chimney, where I am to fall

Fly away, reindeer. Fly away all!"

The sleigh took off, whipping the grass

I peered out in wonder behind the window glass

So to the top of the house the reindeer flew

St Nick, his sleigh and a few gifts, too

-x-

Little noise is what I heard from inside

From the reindeer, gifts, Santa and his ride

As I looked back from the window and turned to my right

Down from the chimney, Santa came into sight

He was dressed in all red, from head to toe

He must be feeling cold, from being out in the snow

St Nick held something on his back

I saw it to be a great gift sack

He had twinkling eyes, and two slight dimples

He had rosy cheeks, and a face free of pimples

His face was lit by a great big smile

Which topped off Santa's weird fashion style

In his mouth he had a metal cigarette

The smoke ring he blew seemed to pirouette

He had a round face and a pretty big tum

He ate the milk and cookies to the last crum

I looked on at him as his behind gave a wriggle

It took lots of work not to let out a giggle

I looked on in silence as he gave me a wink

All of this while downing his drink

While he was doing his work, he let out a frown

Turning from the stockings, to me he looked down

"Where is Dallas' stocking?" He asked with cheer

I looked around quickly, eyes open with fear

"He doesn't have one." I manage to say

I see him leave one for Dally anyway

Tapping his nose before turning around

And flying up the chimney without a sound

He got into his sleigh, giving his deer the word

The reindeer flying away is what I heard

But I heard the old man say before he flew into the night,

"Greaser Christmas to all and to all a good night!"
