I listened to the sound of Percy's soft, steady breath next to me. I turned my head and glanced at the glowing clock on his bedside table. 3:19. I turned back to the sleeping boy -- man -- beside me; I glanced over his features: the small smile he had in his sleep, the four-pack abs, the biceps from the years of sword-fighting, and the jet-black hair that fell in front of his closed sea-green eyes.

I brushed the hair away from his face lightly, appreciating his peaceful, happy face; a face I hadn't seen in months because of the anniversary of the war two years ago. Around this time of year, he gets depressed; his eyes become glazed over from the flashbacks of the war: Luke dying, me almost dying; he would think about it for months before finally going back to his old, cheerful self.

I continued to stare at the finally peaceful face, thinking of what we had done. It had been the end of the second month -- there were always three months: one before, one the day of, and one after -- and it was making me sad, him just looking so depressed. I had talked to him about it; the conversation had consisted of tears and feelings, stories and thoughts.

It had come to another step in our relationship: making love. Of course we love each other and of course we knew and told each other, but it was time to show it; time to prove it.

So here I lay, next to this beautiful man, thinking about all that's happened; before the war, after our underwater kiss, everything that led up to the one beautiful moment.

Plato believed that men used to have two faces and four hands and feet, but Zeus was afraid of their power and split them, leaving them to roam the Earth in search of their other half.

And I believe I've found mine.
