Title: Goodbye

Disclaimer: If I owned Harry Potter I wouldn't be sitting in Math class writing fanfiction. And if I owned the song "We'll Never Say Goodbye" from the movie "Sing".. I dont know what I would do. Oh.. and I dont own the allusion to a certain book/musical in the last few seconds. If you can guess it, I'll give you a cookie.
Author's Note: I have another version of this fiction that I might put up here as a second chapter, seeing as it uses the next verse of the song. I'm not sure. As always, reviews are adored. Re-written as of Dec 7th (I only posted it two days ago because I was unhappy with the result.
Reviews: Reviews are lovely! I would love to hear what you think about my story, specially if you have any constructive criticism!

We share the days of laughter
We share the nights of sorrow.

The soft patter of rain on the cold, hard earth was drowned out by the sounds of screams from the wounded dying with the soft undertones of crying by the living.

Chaos was everywhere, friend was foe and foe was friend and faces melded into one another. Sides, good or bad, no longer seemed to matter as curses (both forgivable and not) were cast from every direction.

The cold, bitter rain turned to hail, and then to snow as the remaining bodies fell, blanketing the field in a mixture of blood and ice. The world was eerily silent as not a single body stood, unharmed. The silence was deafening, as If the universe was in mourning for the countless lives lost.

And in the morning after,
We face a bright tomorrow

The late hours of the night turned into the early hours of the morning when a single body rose from the fallen, covered with his own blood as well as that of others. His hair was matted, his face cut and a single arm hung limp at his side.

Side by side we'll always stand,
Spirits flying high

But the boy's emerald eyes, perhaps the only color on the battle field that fateful night, shone with tears. Tears for departed acquaintances and tears for rivals as the sun rose to cast an eerie red glow on their nameless bodies.

And if someday we should part,

In the distance, a shadow of a man emerged from the underbrush, his face apathetic as his steely obsidian eyes gazed over the bodies for a single face.

Obsidian crashed with green and time seemed to stop, as if it hadn't already. Those jaded optics spoke more than words. They spoke of past horrors, of future horrors and of the present. Breaking the emotionally connection, the young man began to run, dodging the bodies strewn across the earth.

He ran.
And ran.

We will not say die

Snowflakes hung in mid-air as the young man threw himself into the other's arms, tears streaming down his cheeks. Soft sobs were emitted from him as his lover stood stoic and unaware. But his distraught wasn't registered, for the man stood, apathetic to the tears. The younger stood back those infamous green eyes, Lily's green eyes, looking so hurt and confused.

Long as I can hold your hand

The pale, calloused man turned then, no longer able to look at the battlefield where so many had fallen. Life was baring down on him, and for Harry Potter it was vastly the same.

"Severus! Wait!" he cried. But Severus did not turn.

We'll never say…
goobye.
