Pop Princess.

She stepped on stage for the first time.

Lights....Camera....Actress.

Actress, that's exactly what she was. An actress, the best kind.
The kind that could have the worst life, the worst parents and home, and use it to be the best actress the ninth grade had ever seen.
Sharpay Evans was 14 when she stepped on the stage for the first time.
She'd been singing since she was 3, dancing since she was 6 and acting, since birth.
Always the dramatic little princess, her father said.

Until he figured out his wife had cancer, and when she died. He figured out...that his little princess was the spitting image of her. And then he figured out, that hitting his little girl until she was asleep for the night, was a much better lullaby than her mother sang to her every night.
She'd been beaten every night before bed since she became a freshman in high school.
ANd that was the year she became Sharpay Evans...the Ice Princess.
The Drama Club captian.
While her father was figuring out how easy it was to take advantage of his little girl, to ease the pain of the sight of her.
Sharpay was finding out...acting, was the only was to feel normal.
Sharpay was finding out...being feared by everyone, being the best, being and actress uncomparable to any other...kept her from being hurt... it gave her control...even when most of the time she had none.

She stepped on that, East High, stage for the first time. Smiling. Ready to perform. The show must go on, she thought. Even while her heart was broken, and tattered...Sharpay Evans found out, being an Actress.

She could be whoever she wanted to be.

She could be famous.

She could fool everyone.

Even the ones she didn't want to fool.
