Part 1

"Hey, Kagome! Did you see the new boy? He is SO weird!" My friend Sango said to me. She was always examining someone who is new. We were at school, outside at lunchtime sitting at a table.

"Sango not only is that rude but can't you stay focussed? We're supposed to be studying. " I griped really getting annoyed with her little examination.

Then Miroku came, slamming his books on the table and said "Hi, Sango! Hi, Kagome! Studying?"

I looked up from my textbook and answered calmly "Yeah, algebra."

Miroku sat down. Then he perked up as if remembering something "Have you two seen that new boy?!"

I shut my book, giving up. "Ok who is this 'new boy'." I said bored already but still slightly curious.

"Ok!" Sango said eager to give out the news. "He has weird green eyes and he wears some dark blue Jean pants, with a light bluish-green shirt that has white leaves on it. -"

"And he has reddish-brown hair that's in a bun." Miroku finished.

*BING BING BING*(the bell ringed)

"Bye, see you at the end of school!" I yelled back to my friends as I ran to drama class and they did the same

When I got to class I sat down and took out my books. The teacher came in with who I guessed was (and was right) the new boy. " Hello class. We got a new student. His name is Shippo." the teacher said " He will need someone to show him around school. Any volunteers?"

Nobody raised their hands so I did, forgetting how my friends thought of him. The teacher sat him next to me then went to the front and announced the assignment-'to watch any drama movie with a partner and then do a report about it and tell the five Ws and how you might relate to one of the characters.'

"Hey want to be my partner? We could watch Titanic." I asked Shippo the new boy nudging him with my elbow.

He looked at me and I saw relief cross his face even though his cheeks were still red from embarrassment "Sure but I don't know your name nor where you live for that matter."

"Oh, I live at the Higashi shrine and my name is Kagome Higurashi. So?" I said in a way begging.

He put his hand to his chin then looked at me and he said "Ok you're hired!"

We both started to laugh. Then I said "I'll meet you after school on the front steps then we can go to my house and watch Titanic and eat popcorn!"

"Good. It's settled then I'll meet you after school but there's one thing I can only stay till 5:00. Is that ok?" Shippo said once he had finally caught his breath.

I was kind of puzzled that he couldn't stay till five but figured it wasn't any of my business. So I said "Yeah, that's fine."

"Ok class it's time to go." The teacher said and all of the students rushed out of the classroom like a rampaging herd of buffalo leaving a trail of paper behind them.

Shippo and I walked out of the room and Shippo said "Hey I know where to go next."

"Ok but let's see what classes we have together," I said and I looked at his schedule. "We have 3rd period language, 4th period reading, and 7th period history."

"That's weird those are the only ones that I don't know where to go." Shippo said with a bewildered expression.

"Hmm let's just meet here at those periods. Ok, well we better be going to class see'ya after this period." I said and began to walk to class.
