"Steven! Do you want to play a game?" Pearl asked, excited.

"Yes!"

Pearl set up a chair in the middle of the room.

"Now you can throw objects at me and I'll dust them with my duster! Sounds like fun, huh?"

Steven sat eagerly in the chair.

"Yay!"

He started throwing objects at the gem who gracefully caught and dusted them.

This continued for a while.

"Okay, Steven!" Pearl said, "Slow down, and less hard please!" But it was too late…

Steven threw a lamp shade and it hit Pearl right in the face.

"YOW!" Pearl retreated into her gem form.

"PEARL!" Steven yelled, crying, "I'm so sorry! Pearl?"

Garnet, hearing Steven voice, came into the room.

"Oh Steven. Its not your fault," she said when she saw what happened. She sat with him as he cried.

"But it is… I threw the lamp shade," Steven said, sniffling quietly.

Garnet took the boy's head and set it gently in her lap hugging him.

"Steven, it will be alright,"

A couple weeks later, Pearl returned, brighter and happier than ever.

"Pearl!" Steven ran down the stairs, and gave his friend a big hug, "I missed you!"

"Hello Steven. I missed you too,"

Pearl looked around, confused.

"Um… Steven?" she asked, "What happened to all the lamp shades?"
