If people hadn't noticed it before it was obvious now. Those two only had eyes for each other. The love in their gazes filled them up, so much so that the rest of the world seemed to fade into the background. Most weddings were like that. Hope and love and joy joined together in a beautiful mix. These two had more than earned this day of happiness. Their road had been long and knobbly, and they had stumbled along the way more than once. Everyone that knew them knew how much they deserved this. And that only added to making the day extra special.
Everything had been simple yet elegant, the sun had been shining from a light blue sky, and they had been surrounded by the love of friends and family. Smiles and laughter and tears of joy had filled the day and resonated into the early hours of the night. There was no such thing as the perfect day, but this seemed to be pretty close to it.
As the little gathering broke up peace gradually settled on their little segment of heaven. They had chosen a rustic nature setting as the backdrop of their commitment to one another. It was a picturesque place, with the large old trees, the golden fields and the little duck pond. They had decorated the tables with wildflowers and hung lamps in every tree so even in the Texas twilight the place looked beautiful.
They were sitting close together by the bank of the pond looking over at the few remaining guest who were happily chattering with each other, the words reaching them only as muffled sounds. They were one now, though they probably already had been for years. The only thing that had changed was their titles, husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs. It felt a bit odd. Partners were the term that fit them the best that was what they were, partners in life. The world seemed to stand still as they enjoyed the serenity together. This was true bliss. Life didn't get much better than this.

I'm so ambivalent to all of this, totally excited yet dreading the end of this amazing show!
