En Route to Kansas
Grace leaned her head against Mics shoulder and fell asleep. Mic was looking through the seat pocket, looking for something to read. He soon became bored and his mind began to wander. He thought about his past.
The words he had said to Mac on the ferry that night and the few months after played over and over in his mind forever, until he had met Grace.
During the hour he had spent with his old friends at Rabb's, the story of his "past" had come up.
He had left Australia and the RAN just before Mac decided she wanted Harm instead. He had left because he was given a job offer for the Sydney Bar Association. But, three months later, the job fell through, and he had come the States. Since he had dual citizenship, and since he had loved working as a JAG, he had enlisted as a full Commander and quickly worked his way up the ranks. The acting JAG had retired, and he'd taken over. He was transferred to San Diego, then back to Falls Church. It was at H.Q. that he'd met Grace. She was actually there prosecuting on his last official case before becoming JAG.
He had fallen for her immediately and their courtship began right away.
~ God. She was sooooo beautiful. He smiled as she sifted in her chair. ~
He had fallen for her right away, and it was obvious to everybody. Their first date had been one of their best. It was a whirlwind courtship, lasting 3 weeks. They had gotten married then; before he was transferred to Kansas. It was a sort of miracle marriage. It was a miracle it lasted, considering the circumstances. But, now, he was going to be a daddy.
A voice over the loudspeaker snapped him out of his reverie.
"We will be landing in Lawrence in 5 min. please return to your seats and make sure your seatbelts are securely fastened. Thank you for choosing Plains Air."
End of Part Two.
