Left Knee passed away today at Tokyo Medical University after a brief but valiant struggle following a traumatic injury at the Kaijō Vs Tōō game last Friday night. Left Knee was surrounded by his friends and family. He was seventeen years old. His last words were: "Be honest with yourself."
"Left Knee died as he lived, enjoying every moment," his twin brother, Right Knee said in a statement from the family. Left knee is survived by his twin and leaves behind five precious toes.
Left Knee is perhaps best known for his contribution to Teikō Middle School and its three National Championship titles in his beloved basketball. He was also the "Most Valuable Knee" at the 20XX Inter High Games in his first year at Kaijō High School. Left Knee was the featured knee in last August's Basketball Monthly.
Kaijō High School will present Left Knee's family with a posthumous honorary diploma and has announced that the practice gym will be renamed Left Knee Memorial Gym, in honor of his dedicated play.
Besides his talent on the court, Left Knee was a well-known model, often appearing on the cover of Zunon Boy. Left Knee appreciated a variety of hobbies, including walking, running, jumping, and dancing. Left and Right Knee hold the world record for Dance Dance Revolution.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Left Knee Basketball Scholarship Fund. Services will be held at Karaoke-Kan at the Shibuya Location at 7pm on Sunday, May 3rd.
