In the summer time, a beautiful breeze swept over the long grass, while the sun shined on the grass. Everybody was enjoying the beautiful weather. Except me, I was sitting on my porch enjoying the beautiful weather when my wife, Jenny, opened the door
"John, Marley wants to come out with you"
I sighed when ever Marley wants to come outside with you he runs or ruins something. Before I could answer there Marley was in front of me with my jacket I had to where to work for the big meeting.
"Marley, drop it" I said in a stern voice. I slowly crept toward him
"Drop it" I said again still in a stern voice. I stood still like a statue hoping to think that Marley will stand still and think I wouldn't grab the jacket. But Marley is smart. I counted to 3 in my head "1, 2, 3," I swiped at my jacket but missed it And just made Marley take off running. I got off my feet grabbed my papers and ran after him. Dodging fences, running through yards, knocking into people then there was my worst nightmare, a swimming pool. Marley jumped into the swimming pool. Me, not thinking jumped in after Marley. The bad thing is that everything was socked; the good thing is Marley dropped my Jacket knowing he had done his job. I grabbed Marley's collar and pulled him home. When people looked at me I just said "Nabors dog" and smiled. When I got home I threw him in the house I checked my watch, good still working. I looked up then looked at it again 12:00. I'm late!
When I reached work they were all sitting in the meeting room. "There's John" my boss said he was kind of relieved. Everyone looked at me, I was dripping wet. I walked up to the stand, my shoes making sloshing sounds as I walked. My boss acted like I was not wet.
"Begin" my boss said
I opened my papers and then remembered. they were socked. I stood in horror looking at the papers.
"We will redo this meeting on September 1st" my boss said. Everyone left the room.
"John, what happened"?
"Marley" I replied.
"Well you have a month to redo those papers"
When I got home I sat there for a moment. Jenny looked out the window. I grabbed my suit case and walked in the house.
I told Jenny everything. She just laughed. I was kind of upset that she laughed when I could have gotten fired.
I woke up the next morning to find Jenny sitting on the porch.
"Jenny, Marley wants to come outside with you"
Before Jenny could respond I let go of Marley. Marley went up to her and started licking her face. "My make up" Jenny cried
I didn't listen when Jenny would tell me what Marley I would laugh at her.
I opened my car door and acted like I didn't notice Jenny and drove away.
