He found her just after graduation crying on the school stage, where she felt most at home.
"What do you want?" she asked angrily.
He'd never seen her cry before. He just stared at her.
She sighed. "I was hoping you were Troy."
"I'm not Troy."
"No duh."
"I'm nothing like Troy."
She gave him a strange look. "Yes you are. You're his best friend."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"Would Troy Bolton do this?"
Chad Danforth leaned forward and kissed Sharpay Evans on the lips, a sweet and long kiss.
She just looked at him, shocked. "Um. I guess not, no."
"Exactly."
"How did I miss this? For four years?"
"Well…you were all over Troy…I was all over Taylor…I'm a jock, you're a theatre kid."
Sharpay smirked. "Stupid status quo." With that, she grabbed his shirt and gave him a kiss he'd never forget.
