A/N: I've been watching a lot of CI lately and I noticed different their chairs were. This is how I think it should if they swapped chairs.

Set season 5, probably slightly OC.

Chair

"What would I have to do for you to have your chair?" Goren asked Eames out of the blue, while the detectives were finishing off some paperwork from a case.

"What?" Eames replied, looking up from her paperwork.

"I was thinking we could swap chairs," Goren asked.

"No," Eames answered and went back to work.

"Oh, come on, I've had this chair forever and your chair looks so comfortable," he complained.

"Take it up with Deakins, he can get you another chair," Eames suggested.

"Yeah, but I could have your chair instead," Goren told her.

"But I like my chair, take Morgan's chair, I'm sure he won't mind," she reminded him.

"The last time I tried he wasn't very happy I took it,"

"Did you ask?"

"Yeah but I ended up breaking it anyway,"

"I'm sorry Goren, my butt likes this chair and I ain't giving it up anytime soon,"

"Like I asked before, how much would I have to pay you for that chair?"

"Well, you could bring me coffee every day,"

"I already do that,"

"No I mean every day,"

"Oh, anything else?"

"You could buy me Danish every day,"

"That's only on special occasions and only when I get something wrong,"

"Exactly so that would mean I probably would never give up this nice chair for yours," she gestured to his chair. She didn't much like the colour and it looked uncomfortable just sitting across from it. Goren nodded, just as he was about to say something Deakins called out to Eames and called her in to his office. Something about the paperwork wasn't right.

"If you touch my chair I will never buy you lunch again," Eames threatened.

Goren put his hands up like he in defence. She went to Deakins office; as soon as the door closed he glanced around to see if anyone was watching him. He could see Detective Morgan on his laptop playing games and his partner filling out paperwork. He pushed out his chair and swapped his chair with Eames's chair swiftly. He sat down on it gently and sighed. She was right about the chair, he felt comfortable, and it even had arm rests! He leaned in and titled back his head looking at the lights at the ceiling. He closed his eyes, hoping this moment could last forever and it nearly did until he heard a throat clearing that interrupted his thoughts.

"I would so put that chair back now if I were you," he heard Mike Logan mumble next to him. He opened his eyes to see Logan and Barek staring down at him.

"One more moment," he replied and sat back up.

"She's pretty protective of that chair," Barek reminded him.

"I wouldn't break it if I were you," Logan said.

"I won't break it," Goren assured them.

"Unlike Morgan's chair," Logan joked, laughing. Goren glared at him.

"Anyway, we're off to lunch, want anything?" Barek asked.

"No, Eames and I are ordering in," Goren replied.

"Chinese again?"

"Best one in town," Goren smiled. Logan and Barek exchanged glances and left Goren with Eames's chair. They were worried about him breaking it and may not be on his partner's good side for a while.

As he settled in the chair again and he couldn't help but to think of what Eames would say to him if she caught him.

"Goren!" he heard Eames call out to him. He jumped and tried to catch his fall but ended up falling backward on the Eames's chair. He heard a snap and closed his eyes. Shit, he thought. He slowly got and realized the whole bullpen was looking at him. He looked down at his mess and saw Eames and Deakins staring at him from the captain's door.

"Sorry," he called out and picked up the pieces of the chair. There were going to be a lot of Danishes he owed for the rest of the year.
