Author's Note: Hello again! This is another oneshot of my character Sophie Pepper and Neville. Hope you like tell me what you think.

Disclaimer: I only own Sophie Pepper.

Sophie Pepper walked to the front of the dining hall through the mass of people to the stool when her name was called. That boy Neville Longbottom had gotten Gryffindor and was now sitting next to a red haired boy their age. There was a seat open right beside him and she wanted it.

(Little did she know that she would have that seat for her whole school career and longer.)

As she sat on the stool and the Sorting Hat was placed on her head she thought of the breif moments she and Neville had seen each other.

Neville asking if she had seen his toad

Thinking his hair was adorably akward

Finding his toad and seeing his face light up

Seeing that empty seat.

"Gryffindor!" The hat bellowed. She beamed and practically skipped to the empty seat. She plopped down and stuck her hand out to the dark haired boy next to her.

"I don't think I've properly introduced myself. Sophie Pepper, so glad to see you again. Neville Longbottom, correct?" And as he hesitantly nodded and took her hand and shook it, she smiled again, happier now than she had been in a while and hopeful they'd be great friends.

Neville Longbottom sat at the Gryffindor table next to Ron Weasley. Gryffindor, he couldn't believe it! Gryffindor was for the brave people. He thought of himself as pretty cowardly, so at the moment he was feeling pretty great. The only thing that could improve his mood was the girl that found Trevor on the train. He looked for her long auburn hair and found her sitting on the stool at the front of the dining hall with the Sorting Hat on her head. It screamed Gryffindor. He wondered where she would sit. There were plenty of seats everywhere so he didn't get his hopes up. She started towards his section of the long table and sat right next to him.

It took tons of willpower to not let his mouth hang open. He could not believe his luck. She stuck her hand out and said,

"I don't think I've properly introduced myself. Sophie Pepper, so glad to see you again. Neville Longbottom, correct?"

He paused for a moment thinking she might be playing a joke on him, as many did, but nodded and grabbed her hand and shook it. He felt hopeful for once in his life.

Really short, I know, but I'm working on a multichaptered story. Review please (:
