Pinky promise?
Tears streamed silently down my pale cheeks. My heart wrenching inside my chest. Eric. I thought. Why did he have to leave me? I couldn't stand it. Every second that passed just reminded me that he was gone. Maybe even gone forever.
"Dude, what is wrong with you?" Stan asked me from across the table in the mall's food court. He looked at me like I was an idiot.
"Nothing. I-I just can't believe that he's gone. I absolutely hate it when he leaves me alone for so long like this. I just miss him so much."
"Kyle, man, or whatever you are. He'll be back soon. Stop worrying." Kenny said to me. "It's going to be alright."
I could see him rolling his eyes. They didn't care that my heart was breaking. They just didn't understand how it felt to be away from the one I loved. They didn't get how much it hurt. Whenever Eric leaves me he takes a piece of me with him.
"You guys just don't understand." I muttered.
"We understand perfectly. You can't last two seconds without fat ass to throw yourself all over." Kenny joked.
"Shut up." I said. "I'm going to go look for Eric."
As I weaved between tables and chairs I slipped on a spilt milkshake. Hitting my ass hard on the ground, I yelped out in pain. Thinking I broke my ass, I heard soft chuckling from above me. As I looked up I saw my boyfriend standing before me with a small smile played across his lips. I loved that smile.
"Klutzy Jew," he said as he extended his hand. I took it gratefully and pulled myself up off the hard ground. When I was finally standing firmly upright Eric refused to let go of my hand.
"What are you doing?" I asked curiously. He normally doesn't like to show affection in public.
"Holding your hand. What else." He smiled warmly at me.
As much as I wanted to just let it be I had to know why. "I can see that but why are you doing it?"
Eric pulled me closer and whispered in my ear. "I could tell you were crying over my absence and I wanted to make you feel better."
"You were gone for a really long time." I wined.
"I was in the bathroom. I wasn't gone for more then a minute or two." Eric said as if I was being insane.
"It felt like forever." I sighed sadly.
Eric pulled me in for a quick kiss on the lips. "Then I will never leave you alone ever again."
"Pinky promise?" I asked hopefully.
"Pinky promise."
