Christmas Cheer
Ugh... this is a little early... Characters not mine. Got teh idea from someone over at the ghspinelli LJ. Enjoy!
Something. Was. Not. Right.
"What… what is all this?" Jason questioned, staring incredulously at what used to be his living room. He barely recognized it. A tall Christmas tree stood in one corner, decorated to the nines with lights and ornaments and tinsel. A glowing star sat on top. A red and green blanket and matching pillows covered his once grey couch. Red and green was everywhere, really. Candles, holly, a train set under the tree. A look to his left showed a wreath hanging on the door. '12 Days of Christmas' was playing from the iHome Spinelli had set up some time ago.
Spinelli grinned from where he was seated on the sofa, reindeer antlers on his head. "Stone Cold, ugh, just decking out a little Christmas cheer."
He was still absorbing the overwhelming amount of decorations. "A little?"
"The Jackal may have gotten just a bit carried away on the decorating…" The teenager shifted slightly, rubbing the back of his neck, as if deciding whether or not he was in trouble. "I… I'll take it down if you want."
Jason shook his head, finally taking off his jacket. "No, it's fine. Just… unexpected." He inhaled, catching the aroma of something cooking. "There's more?" He was kind of scared by that thought. How Spinelli had gotten all of this on Christmas Eve he was not entirely sure.
"My grandmother always made Gingerbread cookies before Christmas." Spinelli grinned. "You going over to the Crazy Q's house?" He asked, venturing into the kitchen quickly to turn off the oven, stopping a few feet from Jason upon his return.
Jason shrugged, heading for the stairs to go change. "Until the Quartermaine curse kicks in and ruins the food, yeah."
Spinelli laughed, as his gaze traveled upward. "Umm... Stone Cold?"
"What?" He followed his friend's line of sight to a precisely placed piece of mistletoe hanging just above his head. "Ugh…" He should have known. "Fine."
A grin lit up Spinelli's face, nearly brighter than the Christmas tree behind him. "Awesome." He closed the few feet of distance between them, pressing a quick kiss to the older man's lips.
Jason, however, had other plans. He pulled Spinelli close again, kissing him harder, backing him up towards the wall of the stairwell.
"Whoa." When Jason finally pulled away, Spinelli was in a state of stunned silence, hovering in that spot, using the railing to support himself when his lover stepped away.
He was still standing there when Jason returned after changing his clothes. "Are you okay?"
"Huh? Oh, yeah." Spinelli shook his head, moving back to the couch where his legs would not be able to fail him.
Jason smiled. "Good. Be back soon." Knowing where he was going, he added, "With take-out."
