"Full Moon, Full Moon, Full Moon...damn! Is there any ghost activity at any other time of the month?" Remus muttered angrily as he flipped through his book, Interactive Hauntings of Northern Britain. "Why can't they work on the New Moon?" he asked as he slowed his flipping.

"But the Full Moon is the best night of the month for dark and creepy stuff," rationalized James as he caught the quaffle. "And the lighting is fantastic."

"I'm glad you think so," Remus snapped back, returning to his book. Shaking his head, James tossed the quaffle to Sirius, who caught it easily.

"New Moon...here." Remus opened the book wider to read it better. "Oh, here's something."

Sirius paused and James, sensing an opening, threw the quaffle in an attempt to catch his friend off guard, but Sirius still caught it without even looking. "Anything good?"

"A pirate ship," Remus replied, his eyes boasting interest as he scanned the article. Sirius sat up and leaned on the ball, making James pout silently as their game came to an end.

"English pirate ship...lost at sea..." Remus looked at the ceiling for some quick mental math. "1492, that's five hundred...482 -- eh, about 500 years ago."

Sirius nodded approvingly. "How's the haunting?"

"It says here the hard part is finding it," Remus replied, consulting the book once more. "And it's usually sailing, so in order to get on board you have to catch it sailing under a cliff or something and jump."

Sirius' eyes glittered dangerously. "That sounds like fun."

"Yeah, well, as it'll be our first time aboard it'll be cabin boy or worse, stowaways for us. It says if you don't board before midnight, you're considered a stowaway. It hasn't been seen any earlier than eleven, however."

"Only an hour to find it and get on?" James asked incredulously. "That's ludicrous!"

"That's a challenge!" Sirius grinned madly at James. "Come on, Prongs, don't you want to go ghost hunting? It'll be fun!"

"And we could always use Pad's bike," added Peter from his corner.

Sirius turned to him with a mischeivous smile. "Indeed we could." He got off the futon and knelt before Remus and clasped his hands together in a mocking prayer. "Come on, Moony. What do you say? Make my deepest, darkest wishes come true and ride with me once more!" Remus eyed him nastily and Sirius grinned. "But honestly. Can we? Pleeease?" Remus hated heights, and he knew it.

"I did suggest it, didn't I?"

"YES!" Sirius jumped up and turned to James and gave him a high five as they hooted and hollered in joy and excitement. Remus grimaced and shook his head as he bookmarked the page and the two left to ask his mother if it would be alright, Peter trailing close behind, but as he shut it, he noticed a crease in the book. When he opened it curiously, he found a dog-ear on the top right corner of the nineteenth page.

"Padfoot..." Remus muttered as he fixed it. He pressed the book properly and set it down on the bedside table before joining his friends in their attack on his mother.

After he'd left the room, the book flipped open of its own accord and the book page folded the corner back down on page nineteen in defiance before returning to the position its owner had left it in.
