Chapter one:

~Bellamy

"What is this, Octavia?" I asked looking at the chick flick on my TV. I sat down on the couch waiting for my sister. "He's Just Not That Into You, my sister, Octavia, said walking into the living room with two bowls of popcorn. "Octavia, this is my house, shouldn't I pick the movie?" I asked grabbing one of the bowls of popcorn. "Nope, I get to pick the movie because I'm the one with the two year old daughter. Juliette is too young to see this movie, so I have to watch it here," Octavia said. "Fine, you win. We can watch whatever you want," I said with a sigh. "Yay!" Octavia said with a squeal, "This is such a cute movie!" We settled into the couch to watch the movie. The movie wasn't too bad for a chick flick, but I would never tell Octavia that.

The doorbell rang, pulling Octavia's and my attention off of the movie.

"Are you expecting anyone?" my sister asked me. "No, I don't know who it could be," I said getting up to answer the door. When I opened the door, my ex-girlfriend, Roma was standing there. "Roma, we broke up months ago. What are you doing at my apartment?" I said annoyed. I was trying to spend time with my little sister. "We broke up ten months ago to be exact, and the girls are one month old," she said pointing to a stroller holding to babies, "Their names are on their shirts. I don't have the money to take care of them, and since you are the father, you can either keep them or put them up for adoption. Here is their stuff. Have fun." She set down two car seats and two suitcases, then left. "Umm, Octavia?" I called.

I drove as fast as I could without breaking the law to Finn's apartment. I ran up the stairs and quickly unlocked the door. I rushed around the apartment trying to find my boyfriend of one year. I checked every other room when I went into his bedroom. When I went in there he was with another girl. "Oh my god!" I exclaimed stepping back. "Clarke…" Finn started. "Fuck you!" I interrupted, "I came to tell you I am pregnant but now I don't want the kid to know you. Don't try to contact me. I'm leaving." I walked out, slamming the door.

When I got home, I quickly started packing. My roommate and I didn't have much, and I only took half of that, so I was done in less than an hour. I had all my boxes sitting by the U-Haul I got. I was trying to figure out how I was going to get the TV and bed in it, when my roommate, Ivy, came home. "Umm, Whatcha doing?" she asked. "I'm moving," I said finally allowing myself to cry. "Oh sweetie, do you need any help?" she asked gently. "Can you help me get my bed and TV in the U-Haul?" I asked. "Of course," Ivy said with a small smile.

When I was all packed up, Ivy hugged me hugged me. "You'll be okay," she said with a sad smile, "Keep in touch." "I will," I replied, "Goodbye Ivy." "Goodbye Clarke," she said as I drove off.

I drove from Tennessee to New York in a few days. Every night I stayed at a hotel and looked at apartments in New York City. By the third day, I rented an apartment and bought a couch and table online. When I finally made it, they were already there. I unpacked and sat on my bed watching parenting shows on Netflix and drinking sparkling red grape juice. "Here's to a new life," I said taking a drink, "May it be better than the last."
