A Zelgadis and Amelia Fic
Zelgadis lay on the ground breathing heavily. He had finally found a cure, finally. Yet in this moment he hated himself. As he lay in the crimson of his own blood he felt a strong hatred for nobody but himself. Even the pain couldn't match up for what he felt inside.
"Mr. Zelgadis?" A familiar voice echoed through his head. He flinched in a body retching pain. That voice, if he had only paid so much more attention to it. And now he wouldn't be able to see her or anyone ever again. It hurt him so much to admit it to himself. But it was true...
Several days ago he had snuck into the kingdom of Dalia. From a source he had found he had learned they had a cure. Something to relieve him from being a Chimera. He had found the location of it in the main sorcerers room. After breaking into the room and stealing the cure he ran into the woods. It took him a while to loose the guards that had followed him but nothing would have stopped him from reaching his goal.
"I will finally be human again!" Zelgadis began to use the cure. Something was wrong though. A pain started aching though his body and soul. He screamed and fell to the ground. The forest echoed with the scream of agony.
~~Zelgadis...you must remember. I turned you into a Chimera with your desire to be stronger. You cannot use a man made cure to change back. Find a cure within you. Good bye Grandson~~
"Damn you Rezo you were always too smart for your own good". Zelgadis lay on the ground. He had returned to being a human but without suffering a great deal and now the effect of the cure was eating him from within. In his mind he knew he wasn't going to last long.
"I have to get some help..." He pushed himself up with a great deal of effort. The pain shot through his body yet again. Zelgadis fell to the ground with a thud.
"I'm sorry everyone, I can't see you again" He flipped over to his back slowly in taking air. A small tear fell down his now smooth face.
"Hello! Zel?" He must be hearing things. For a second there he thought he heard Lina.
"Zelgadis where are you?" Now he was hearing Gourry's voice as well...Suddenly a shadow fell upon him. A smiling priest in a black cape, Xelloss.
"Ah I must be dead now. Wait Xelloss? Don't tell me I went to hell?!" Xelloss smirked and watched the spazing out Zelgadis. Zelgadis quieted down after a few seconds noticing he wasn't dead yet. His breaths came in short gasps.
"Mr. Zelgadis it's alright we're here now" said Amelia with tears streming down her face. Everyone knew how much she loved Zelgadis. "Don't you dare leave us Zelgadis we need you here" Amelia's heavy sobs racked her body.
"Don't worry Amelia I'll be ok" But the truth was that he didn't know for sure if he'd live of die, leaving all his friends behind. The pain was so great that he thought he'd explode any minute.
"My my Zel. It looks like you've gotten yourself in quite a fix now haven't you"
"Shut up Xelloss" He didn't really need this now. He sighed heavily. "I will miss you, everyone. Amelia become the greatest ruler of Saillune". With that he took a final breath and was gone.
"Zelgadis?" Amelia questioned. Her body shook as she cried harder then ever. Sypliel used all of her power but couldn't bring him back.
~~Amelia...don't worry about me. My own greed brought this upon me and I'm sorry I left you with such a burden. I will return to you someday. Then I'll be with you forever~~
7 Years Later
"Oh my it's a boy, aren't you happy Miss.Amelia?" Amelia stared into her sons eyes, bluer then the ocean with a strong feeling of kindness with them.
"I think I will name him Zelgadis" stated Amelia. And they were together again, finally.
