Alexander woke up in the middle of the night. It wasn't uncommon, it was just annoying. He glanced at the clock. Four in the morning. Might as well get up and let John sleep. He thought as he got out of bed, only to discover that John wasn't under the covers either. "John?"

"I'm in the living room." He heard John call back to him.

Alex walked down the hallway to see John sitting in the window seat, his sketchbook in hand. Every once in a while he would glance up and look outside onto the dimly lit street, his eyes sparkling.

"What has you so excited?" Alexander asked, sitting next to John and wrapping his arms around him.

"The snow is so pretty."

Alex looked outside. Sure enough, there was a layer of snow that was covering the outside world. "It is," Alex agreed, smiling. "I forget how excited you get because of the snow."

"Yeah, well, it doesn't snow like this in South Carolina."

"I know. You need to make up for all your childhood years of missing the snow." Alex placed his chin on John's shoulder. "What are you drawing?"

"Just outside." John said, moving the sketchbook so Alexander could see better.

"It amazes me how you can do that with just paper and a pencil." Alex replied. "It's beautiful. Kinda like you." He said, pecking John gently on the cheek.

John smiled, a blush creeping over his face. "Thanks, Love."

Alex chuckled. "We've been married for two years and I'm still making you blush?"

John nodded. "It would seem so." He said, closing his sketchbook. "You seem to have that effect on me."

"Yes, it would seem so." Alex said, placing his lips on John's. John leaned into the kiss as Alex began to run his hands gently through his curly mop of hair. John let out a small moan and Alex finally pulled away. "I love you." He whispered softly into John's ear. "You're one of a kind."

"Kinda like a snowflake."

"Yeah," Alex replied. "But you're much more cute."

"Thanks." John said, smiling as he leaned into Alex. "I love you too."
