Prompt for Sunday, November 28, 2010: fire

Extra Prompts: escape, minute, dance & break

Pairing (Optional): ScorpiusMolly

It's for the 'Prompts, oh, Prompts' thread in the next-gen forum.

No, I'm not sure what it is, it's just a bunch of words on a screen, and I hope that's okay.

They were all about pretences (lies) and facades (fakes) and everything that meant they didn't have to be themselves.

;;

Two matches make a bigger flame, everyone knows that.
Two fireworks make a bigger explosion and two grenades are absolutely destructive.

They thought it was love
(Who knows, maybe it was)
But it wouldn't work because those two just weren't suited for each other

They were pretending too hard
No one could see through the fog they cast
But everyone could see they weren't really happy
Funny, huh?

;;

When the fire starts burning your flesh you're just going to have to escape, because no one wants to be near Molly Weasley when she blows, && no one wants to feel the flames that flare up whenever they're in the same room, because you never know if you'll get burnt.

The only problem with fire
Is that if you start to burn (&& believe me, you will)
You don't even notice,
At least,
Not until it's too late

But the leaping dancing twirling flames keep burning bright
&& the smoke travels up to the stars
Blotting out all traces of reality
So the whirlwind of fire && pretend && pain they're in
Looks absolutely real
(At least from the inside)

Everyone notices
Watches the fire consume them until there's almost nothing left
They keep glowing, their sparks shooting off into the darkness they leave behind them && they can't get out, can't quit the person who's become (burnt down) their whole world.

Molly is desperately pushing at the grey walls that surround her (the colour of his eyes-dead && cold) and Scorpius' brown ones are starting to close in and they're both trying to get out as quickly as they can.

;;

Really, Scorpius does the only thing he can && he lights one last match && the last remnants of civility burn away so everyone in the castle can hear the screaming.

By the morning they're both exhausted, the months of fighting && pain && heartbreak are finally catching up to them && by morning they're on opposite ends of the ground with Molly crying and Scorpius trying not to kill someone, but secretly they're glad because finally, finally they've escaped.
