She stared at the numerous scars on his body.

Deep sadness overwhelms her as she touched each of them.

Each scar was filled with their own stories of sadness, anger and vengeance.

She kissed them one by one, wishing that she could do more for him.

She held him close…feeling grateful that he's still alive.

Her only worry is that she didn't know until when.

Even so…

A scar is a reminder of the past.

He watched her as she touched his scars.

He wanted to stop her, but the sadness in her eyes told him not to.

His scars were nothing to be proud of.

Yet the way she touched them—light and careful—made him wonder…

…what does his scars look like to her?

She started kissing them. He remained unmoving.

He leaned towards her when she embraced him, not bothering to hide himself.

"You're wonderful. Even with the scars," she said.

But no matter how deep or long a scar is,

"They'll heal…eventually," he said.

She nodded.

It will fade in time.

"I'll wait until that day comes," she smiled at him.

He smiled back, in his own way.

These scars will heal, someday.
