WOLFSTAR SPEAKS:
Was It Worth It All?
Do you know how much you had meant to me? I doubt it. Did you notice my curious, admiring stares when I was an apprentice? I doubt it. Did you notice me at all? I doubt it.
Yet, somehow, I ended up being the only one mourning you.
Maybe I should start from the beginning.
When I was a kit, you were an apprentice. Well, I looked at you admiringly then - probably because of the fact you were the only apprentice then. You were nice, sweet, funny - everything any tom could ask for.
Soon I was an apprentice too. You were announced into a warrior the same day as I was announced to an apprentice. I began to worry about the other toms - even though I had no idea why. I was worried about their attention towards you - and again, I didn't know why.
When I was a warrior, we looked at each other with equal respect. You were no longer funny - being a warrior... does it mean that you really have to become serious so quickly?
When you were a deputy, you stopped looking at me. I swiftly became jealous, wanting your attention again. You turned your attention to other toms - I became more jealous.
You became leader, and announced me as deputy. I became glad. Your attention was turning back to me. However, your eyes turned from goldenrod to ice-cold amber. Your smirks all turned to snarls.
Your eyes became bloodshot. Your russet pelt became stained with the blood of cats from other clans.
I could take it no longer. I sneaked up to your den, and with a single swipe, I killed you. Your eyes widened in shock, as your lifeless body collapsed on the floor.
You were dead, but your open eyes - sweet goldenrod like the ones I had loved so much - showed just what you were thinking just before you had died.
Why? Why did you kill me?
I leaped out of your den, crying out that you were dead. I was the only one that mourned you that night, despite the others's yowls and complaints, even as I spat at them in anger, announcing myself as leader.
Foxstar... why did you have to become that serious?
Really, was your pride worth that much to you?
Was your pride and greed worth much more than your life, your friends, your family?
Were they even worth my love for you?
A/N) Yay, another emo-ish oneshot. Ugh... -yes I know I use "maybe I should start from the beginning" too much. Shush.-
Storyline: Wolfstar, the cat speaking, was in love with another cat, Foxstorm as she was known then. He had admired her during his apprenticeship, and fell in love with her when she became deputy and when he was a warrior. Finally, Foxstorm became leader, and suddenly grew bloodthirsty and started to take control over the other clans(think Tigerstar. HE'S my inspiration for Foxstar). Wolfstar was deputy then, and tried to stop Foxstar. When Foxstar refused to, he killed her and fled. Finally, he became leader after mourning alone for her, as well as wondering if he should have started loving her in the first place.
The storyline is probably longer than the story itself... -lazy-
Mkay, bye. Enjoy the emoness.
