So I was using a plot generator because I was bored so I went on to twists and input all I could to make it as close to the story of hollow knight as possible.

All it knew was the character names, genders (in my opinion) and relations.

Protagonist.

Ghost / male

Second character.

Hornet / female / half-sister to ghost

Third character.

Pale King / male / father to ghost

And some of its twist suggestions, it got either: close, bang on the money or fithty miles away.

1. The goodies and the baddies all actually want the same outcome and have to work together in the end. (somewhat)

2. Pale King has secret powers resulting from a strange potion. (almost)

3. Hornet's dream was not a premonition and meant nothing. (nope, and premonition is a bad feeling or predicton about someone or thing)

4. It turns out they are all beetles. (my heart stopped)

5. Pale King's delirious ramblings are actually a premonition (maybe?, you decide)

6. Hornet is actually a zombie. (we'll call it the walking infected)

7. The narrator is unreliable and half the plot never happened. (add in a narrator to the game and you're close)

8. The whole plot is a premonition, not reality. (what?)

9. The beginning of the story was staged by Hornet to help Ghost become a stronger character. (with a tiny bit of tweaking that could work)

10. Earth has been destroyed and they're all living in a virtual reality. (nah)

11. Ghost used to be a woman but didn't realise as he has been suffering from amnesia. (no idea how that would work, I mean just look down)

12. Pale King is actually Ghost's son, time travelling. (swap the names and it Could work)

13. Pale King is actually a 100-year-old man with a growth disorder. (I mean... His head is a crown-like growth on top of his... shell?, skull?... Let's stick with head)

14. The story is just one iteration of an infinite loop. (soooo. Like dark souls?)

15. Ghost has been possessed the whole time. (semi-true)

16. It turns out Hornet only exists in the cloud. (the computer one or the water one?)

17. The entire story is a figment of Ghost's imagination. He is actually in jail. (might work if you remove the jail bit)

18. Hornet has been a con artists all along. (hornet is multiple people?)

19. It turns out they are all living in a computer game. (I got the biggest of chills down my spine)

20. Pale King is head of the criminal organisation they've been fighting. (pretty much spot on... Well... If hollow knight was about a mob family)

21. Ghost has been dead all along. (I... I Don't know about what you think but I think that it could work)

22. Pale King was stolen as a baby and brought up by kidnappers. (wayyyy off the mark)

23. Ghost turns to the dark side. (that is exactly what happens... At least in my eyes as I play the game more and more)

24. The entire plot was a ruse designed to teach Ghost a lesson. (with the writing staff of marvel they could put it off)

25. Pale King was switched with another baby at birth. (was he even born in the first place?)

26. Hornet is actually Ghost's daughter. (I'm going to leave this alone)

27. Hornet was just using Ghost to look good in court. (if hollow knight was a court drama it would be interesting to watch)

28. Pale King was bitten by a zombie much earlier in the story but signs were delayed. (meanwhile on the walking infected)

29. Ghost is the villain. (if the game took Place from the Redience's perspective)

30. Hornet and Pale King are both manifestations of Ghost's subconscious. (got nothing fun to say here)

31. During the course of the story, Ghost, picked up the secret to eternal life and therefore doesn't die. (make it so he has it already instead of gaining it and it explains how ghost comes back to life in game)

32. The town they live in doesn't really exist. (somewhat)

33. Pale King isn't really disabled. (he acts like it! HAHAHA, I'll be here all week)

34. Ghost wasn't born but created in a lab. (if hollow knight was a sci-fi then it would be completely right)

35. Pale King is an imaginary friend. (more like enemy)

36. The whole thing is actually an origin story for a well-known franchise. (soon it will be. I'm pumped for silksong)

37. The person claiming to be Pale King is actually a clone. (sooo. Like ghost when he takes the Kings brand?)

38. The whole things is not a story but a brainwashing tool used by the government.? (you aren't meant to know that)

39. The whole plot is a play, rather than reality. (we should get man on the internet to make it a musical!)

40. It's really ten years into the future. (no thoughts)

41. A perceived misfortune in Ghost's past was actually set up to protect him. (could work if we knew more of his past)

42. The person we think is the villain is actually working for a bigger villain. (yep)

43. Pale King faked his own disappearance. (possibly)

44. Hornet poisoned Ghost at the beginning of the story, and it's taken the whole story to take effect. (so like telling us were to go leading us to death?)

45. The entire story is Ghost's hallucination whilst he is being born. (quite the imagination for a 0 year old)

46. Pale King was adopted and didn't know. (x to doubt)

47. Pale King is really a vampire. (NOT IN OUR FANDOM HE IS!!!)

48. A religious text shows that Hornet was always destined to save the day. (I wouldn't question it)

49. Pale King is not really dead. (wouldn't doubt it)

50. Pale King is just a brain in a jar. (so like fallout?)
