You can't expect one person to change the beliefs of another. You also can't make your friends understand your feelings without some harsh words shared behind closed doors. But what you can do is walk along in life forgetting your minds' wish to share all with anyone willing to listen.
Kyle knew these thoughts all too well. He understood that most people could wrap their minds around the idea. The only problem was that the one who mattered could never except the fact. Could never see it his way. Could never let his brain ponder the idea long enough for it to rot in the depths of his mind until only the truth was exposed.
There was only so much one boy could do. While finding his friend leaning in closer during movies, or sneaking in under the covers when a distraction was near. He never even guessed. He never even noticed when a hug was held longer and he could feel Kyle's breath on his ear.
But the Broflovski boy was fine with this. He was always okay with the fact that he was to sit in the distance and watch his friend be off with his happiness while he was left to fend for himself. He figured this was the way of life. This was how things were suppose to be. Him and Stan would never be more. They would soon drift off into their own lanes and leave each other behind.
No matter how many times Kyle needed to cry. When his heart was so low in his chest he couldn't bare the pain. He just sat there and smiled. He kept his face happy. So his friend would never worry and never a twinge hurt would be felt.
Even though the boy dreamed of his friends heart finding his, he knew this was never the answer. But he was fine. He accepted it. He accepted it brokenheartedly .
