She knew many things. She knew that his goal was and always would be to take over the world and control wizard and muggle alike. She knew she was just another part of that goal. She knew that she would always come second. She knew his heart was a constant thing, never fading or growing lighter.

She knew many things. She knew that when he was just a child, he had felt incredible pain, which he sometimes still felt. She knew when he was excited, his snake would cling to him slightly tighter than usual. She knew that he saw red every minute of every day. She knew that he had a little star shaped scar on his left hand, just below his ring finger.

She knew many things. She knew that he had a dimple on the left side of his face. She knew he didn't smile very often, and when he did it did not cause others joy. She knew that his favorite color was actually Saphire, not the awful shade of green anyone would expect. She knew he liked chocolate more than he would admit.

Hermione Granger knew many things, but she did not know why she fell in love with a vile hateful creature that denied what he truly was. She did not know that when she went to bed at night, he always checked he wards around her room.

She did not know that when she had nightmares, he would whisper calming things in her ear . She did not that when she wasn't looking, he would look at her with affection. She did not know that he would smile when she was happy. She did not know that every September 19th he was the one leaving flowers in her room,

She did not know that he would kill someone for brushing past her. She did not know that he had feelings. She did not know that he would accept her, until he asked her to be his wife.
