Kid version of Nostalgia
"Tag, you're it!" Pad said.
"No, you're it!" Edward said.
"Why don't we play rock, paper, scissors?"
"Okay."
"Ready? Rock, paper, scissors!"
Pad picked rock and Edward had scissors.
"Hey, you cheated!" Edward said.
"Did not!" Pad said.
"Did too!"
"Did not!"
"Guys, can't we just get along?" Fiona said.
"Fine!" Pad and Edward shook hands and said good game.
"I'll beat you in war then!" Edward said.
"Fine by me!" Pad said.
Edward got the NERF sword and Pad got the NERF gun.
Fiona explained the rules: no biting, no kicking.
Both boys nodded.
The fight was on. Pad had the advantage of distance due to the gun, but Edward had stealth on his side, like a ninja.
Edward hit Pad on the head and Pad shot him in the arm. They were at a draw until Melody had them both with her toy magic wand that blew bubbles.
"Agh, not the bubbles again, Melody!" Pad said.
"You guys were wide open! I win!" Melody said.
And so, Pad chased Melody around the backyard until Nana called them for their snack, which was carrot sticks and celery with peanut butter.
"Yay! I love Nana's snacks, race you, Pad!" Melody said.
"Hey, no fair!" Pad said.
